My kids always get a bunny (usually one of those cheap 88c ones from Big W - because I don't eat that crappy chocolate and won't be tempted), and then we buy a packet of small solid eggs (cadbury - yummmy) and one small/medium sized hollow egg. All my kids get the exact same regardless of age, because the older ones notice if anything is different. But at such young ages, just because they get them, doesn't mean they are the ones to eat them. It is way too much chocolate - but mummy and daddy help them eat the smaller ones.
well I bought DS two bunnies.... one blue and one to match dads bunny , I bought dh a bunny and a cherry ripe medium /large egg and one for myself too
and a heap of cadbury creme eggs and caramello ones and i will buy a giant pack of solid eggs but $8 seemed a bit much to me lol
My bunnies were only $2 ea and are red tulip ( is that ok?) and my cherry ripe eggs were a bargain $1.80 each ! Oh and creme eggs 79c ( So i went nuts..half price ... drool....)
The problem now ive already eaten two creme eggs.... in ten minutes....
I dont know exactly how to do these dyed boiiled eggs but ill give that a go too and use them in the hunt as well as solid eggs

I bought ds a blue set of bunny ears too ( love my photos) and a new set of textas....
We fly into Aus on Good Friday & are at a wedding all day long on the Saturday & then of course the Sunday is Easter so I just got my parents to go & buy 25 x Elegant rabbits. My kids will get one each & then the rest are for friends/family/MEEE!!. lol
I used to always buy my 2 a pair of pj's, slippers & some eggs for Easter when we lived in Aus. I just can't fathom them being so young & getting soooooooooooo much chocolate from everybody else, so I always went the pj's & slippers avenue. I might still do that this year, but will buy them here & take them to Aus for Easter Sunday.
My parents are very excited to have my girls wake up at their place on Easter morning, I'm pretty sure they have organise eggs for a treasure hunt.
Last year we did an easter egg hunt and then she got a couple of eggs and a book.
This year will be an easter egg hunt (also with dairy free for DD2), prob a bunny each and a couple of SMALL eggs, then we are thinking of getting her a cheapo kids digital camera so she stops stealing mine and also as a reward for giving up her dummy
DD2 will get PJ's or something of equal value.
Last year we brought DD1 a dairy free egg as she can't have dairy and a few small pressies. Mum always brought us a pressie and still buys clothes or something for all her grand kids. This year i have gotten DD2 a puzzle set and a little toy and will get a small d/f bunny if i can find one again.
I personally love Lindt the best, especially white. I also have an addiction to white KitKat since my last pg but have found DD2 isn't so keen which is definitely a blessing in disguise.
We do an egg hunt, with some small & some medium sized eggs, all divvied up after the hunt - they usually end up with around 4 med sized each, and a heap of small ones. It used to be a bunny each as well but this year I am letting them choose what they want - Panda only wants Lindt, Bubble wants Creme eggs. Pie will just get whatever cause she's too young to know or care
I have always done a big Cadbury rabbit, some of the normal egg sized hollow ones and then the small solid eggs. But DS1 is more discerning in his tastes these days so he will mostly get Lindt chocolate. We never go overboard - just enough to fill a small bag and never any boxed ones because they just aren't value for money. DH and I don't buy anything for each other as there is enough of the kid's to scab from LOL. My Mum and Nan give them $5 or $10 each which I usually use to buy them a book or something. The IL's give them a medium sized hollow egg.
To celebrate Easter we always have a big seafood meal at the IL's on Good friday and then just a family weekend. But this year seeing as how it is the first Easter that the kids have been Baptised for, I will take them to Church on Sunday morning.
We bought DS (nearly 2) a Thomas the Tank Engine Easter Train....which cheeps too...bonus (Take along series) and a Thomas Bowl/Cup/Spoon set which also comes with a small egg.
We will do a small hunt this year just for a bit of fun
