my DH got be a TINY bikini. this thing barely covers one butt cheek. there is no way in hell I will be wearing it out in public plus the top is defiantly not for post baby boobs. it's for perky 15-30 non breastfeed boobs. He is pretty upset I don't like it but if I don't feel comfortable how can I wear it
Maybe he didn't buy it for you to wear to the beach

My MIL used to give me the sample makeup that would come as a gift with purchase lol.

Lol... no. Definitely no machine coming! In the past I have been gifted a romance book my MIL had clearly read (multiple breaks in the spine, dog eared pages) which was not even the genre I enjoy - which she would know, given my bookshelves full of crime. Then there was the year she wrapped me up an OPENED packet of biscuits, or the Andre Rieu DVD I had previously seen sitting on her telly - she gifted me that very copy.
Oh my god! It just gets better (or should I say worse?). Maybe we can help you come up with an equally 'special' present for her birthday......a half eaten apple perhaps???

Yes he obviously thinks you have a smoking hot body! Be proud he thinks you're gorgeous and wear it for him at home if you don't feel comfy in it in public!

This year we did quite well actually, although DFs uncle gave MIL and his other uncle a recording dashboard camera and 2 memory cards each - a little odd, but still thoughtful. In the past hes given some pretty dodgy stuff from though. Ie a bucket for DF and a sponge for his sister. Clearly from the same set. They were pre-teens at the time. LOL

LOL! I guess you know where you stand nickle . Apparently I'm lacking in christmas teatowels and hand towels. I got some from my mum, my sister (who is severely disabled and cannot purchase or understand gifts of any kind so obviously bought by my mum) & my grandma (again lives with my mum and is on the downhill side of dementia ) Could be worse I guess.

DH and I each get a calendar from MIL every single year. I've never understood it as we live on the same house so would share a calendar, why does she give us two? I told her a few years ago there was no need to buy me one but she keeps buying me one - perhaps she wishes we lived separate lives lol

No strange gifts this year but one of my favourite front the past was my Nan buying me undies with trucks on them. I was 12 and mortified!

Thanks for the giggles tonight everyone!

That's not a random present, that's a totally calculated and nasty gift. Hope you got some other gorgeous gifts too.

I got a set of free perfumed bath gels and shampoos that you get at fancy hotels (ie: the complimentary ones).

And DH was permitted to pick something out of a bag of re-gift-able items.

    Seriously.

They spend more on holidays every year than we make as a household, but we got the option of taking freebies and unwanted things from a paper bag.

Last year SIL gave DH a worry doll.

Last year for DS1 birthday apparantly MIL had rolled up and put some string around a face washer used not new and was going to give him that for 3rd birthday until was told no by someone!

Wow some of these are just unthinkable! Never had anything like that but my MIL tends to pick a trend and that's what you get for several years. I can't stand candles and never have any out, so my MIL used to get me a voucher to a candle shop every xmas and birthday lol. Then she started buying me white chocolate which I hate the taste of. I just feel bad she's wasting her money so usually get DH to steer her in another direction.

Her sister gets our boys baby toys, doesn't matter how many times she is told their ages!

I get towels every year from MIL and she buys DH a different colour so we don't have a set of matching towels. Last year she got me a bath sheet and it's huge I put it aside and used it for DS's homebirth lol. Haven't had Christmas with his family yet so will see of I have more towels this year.

That being said, we had a lovely time with my PIL today, and it was nice to just spend time together.

A friend's mother condescended to meet her family at a nearby park for Christmas dinner.

Then she asked them to bring left overs from the other side of the family's lunch, and some rolls.

I am grateful for my family. Re-gifted freebies and all.

Gifts that make you go.... huh?

My MIL has a tea towel obsession and therefore assumes everyone else does too. She gives me tea towels whenever they visit or when we visit them. She sent us two for Christmas this year - again. I have more tea towels than all my other linen combined! And we've had dishwashers in every house we've ever lived in!!!

She bought a nice summer dress for DD1 but a winter top for DD2 in a size 0 - we live in Perth AND DD2 turned 1 last week. WTF?! She'll never get to wear it! Both girls got a tacky tourist tshirt from her recent trip to Tassie too - both are too small, DD2's was a 00. Again, WTF?!

    Not weird at all!

My MIL was very polite about buying me undies. She helps a lot around the house including folding the washing. She approached DH with the idea that she buy me some new undies as they were getting very tatty. Given I generally wear bonds cotton ones I was ok about this when DH checked with me.

However double checking my size would have helped!!!
