Sarah, what about a family pic this year? If you have a tripod you could set the timer on your camera. The pose can be somewhat simple, DH holding Zander up whilst he puts the star/Angel on the top of the tree and you stand also putting a decoration on.

Or you could photographer DH holding Zander putting the star/Angel on and then crop DH out if you just want Zander in the pic.

Or Zander "shaking" a box under or near the tree.

Or Zander offering a teeny wrapped pressie to your bare belly (if you have a bit of a bump this would work even better ). Would look very cute if Zander was wearing a Santa Hat.

What about Zander peeking out from behind the Chirstmas Tree?

Someone mentioned unposed pics - you could use several of Zander helping to decorate the tree and then have one of him with the finished tree in the middle - kind of like a "work in progress" photo.

Do you have somewhere you hang stockings? You could have one of Zander hanging his stocking "with care".

If you have a little table you could set up the Christmas tree and have the table in the same frame and have a pic of Zander setting out milk and cookies for Santa.

Or you could have an overdramatized (i.e. big envelope with big clear writing) envelope addressed to Santa and take a pic of Zander "posting" it. Added bonus, if you send it to the official Aust Post address set up for Santa, he'll get a reply!

HTH and looking forward to seeing the final result!

If you wanted to take a photo to bribe him with when he's older, you could dress him up in Period Costume and have him holding a "Christmas Carol's" book and take a photo of him next to the tree singing carols.

Red face this is what I'm trying

one of my friends suggested an idea that I'm going to try this year.
Set up some christmas lights in a slightly darkened area and let bubba play, apparently the glow from the lights frames your subject beautifully. We have a set of outdoor led lights so I'm going to test out my skills on this idea

Blizz I think I'll try that next year, sounds like a great idea.

Well I went and got reindeer ears and a santa hat for Miss Iz today - you ladies have motivated me to take some pics for cards this year! Will post them once they are taken! She has a red spotty jumpsuit she can wear with them - or nudie nappy shots! Might take a bunch and see what everyone thinks!

There are a few ways depending on what computer and programs you have but you can also go to a photo printing place (eg Harvey Norman) and on their photo booths there are options for creating Christmas (or other occasion) photos using your picture. And I think it is 15c per photo!!
