Stocking Filler Ideas?

As the title suggests I was wondering what you put in you kids stockings (if you have stockings)

Last year I got lots of $1 and $2 toys but they were really a waste of money as they broke or had a bout 2 minutes of use.

This year so far I have a cadbury chocolate stocking to squeeze in each girls stocking (hoping this will bulk it up a bit). I want to get some new licensed undies for each girl and I have been on the my wooden toys website and they have a cute stocking filler pack which looks cute and has whistles and happy sacks etc hoping the wooden stuff lasts longer than the plastic stuff I got last year. I may get a lip balm each but think I need 1 or 2 more ideas.

I always buy socks and jocks...also things like lunch boxes (if they go to school/kinder/creche) or cups with their names on it.
I have also bought icy pole maker mould thingos from the supermarket, big jotters and scrapbooks for drawing, disposable camera, deodorant body spray, hair clips, chalk...

We fill our kids ones with little things like hair clips, matchbox cars and juice poppers/fruit boxes, sultanas, air popped popcorn etc.

I was going to suggest hairclips, a new brush, new cool toothrbush, glitter hair gel, lip smackers, toy cars, those little pet toys (littlest pet shop etc).
BUBBLES, new pack of pencils, small coloring books, outside chalk, playdough, cookie cutters, new drink bottles?

I always buy a new toothbrush, undies and singlets. A can of lemonade (such a treat for them), and some of their fave snack foods.

We used to put in socks, undies, a piece of fruit, a book, bubbles, 1 lolly, things for their hair, a small toy, colouring book and pencils.

Mine get a toothbrush too lol.
DD has a heap of smiggle stuff in hers this year. She loves stationary and writing.
They both have a huge bubble wand.
Small books.
Little bottles of special bubble bath.

socks, a matchbox toy car, a bag of dried fruit and a small chocolate santa or similar (to keep them going whilst they open their main presents. I then add one extra thing per child, such as a barbie type doll or a pack of marbles or toy soldiers. Usually something $5 or less. Might have to add a few more things this year as MIL has knitted all the children Christmas stockings with their names on and they are larger than previous years, but it will be in the same sort of theme.

beckoes balls are good stocking fillers for little ones, get a couple of brightly coloured ones to take up a bit of room. A baby toothbrush? Some fresh bibs? A summer hat?

I have decided to add a torch to the girls stockings as they love torches. last year I got them a whistle that lighted up whenever you blew into it. It was one of their ffavourite things but it was soooo loud! Never again

I went to a shop in Malvern (Melb Metro) called Parenthood & they have a lot of little knick kancky things. I got a mask (mouse I think), a puzzle that can be done in the car/on a plane, some bubble stuff. Elsewhere I got some undies, singlets

one off those pet pillows for $15? I got the girls fluffy dressing gowns from cheap as chips a few months ago for $10. A $5 beach towel rom big w? a basketball lol last years the girls got a pair of sparkly dunlop volleys each! I took a pair of shoes that I knew fitted them with me when we went shopping.

Put Santa's present in the stocking if it's so big. That's probably what your mil was thinking.


Other fillers are nuts in their shells and a nut cracker, bag of cherries, dried fruit.

Am I the only person who doesn't do stockings?

nah we never did stockings til they were bought for us, now I fill like i should use them....

I haven't done them either. It thread was making me feel bad, glad I'm not the only one who doesn't do them. Dd's birthday is four days before Christmas so it is already present overload at our house.

I have dvd's, undies, bits and pieces from their main present (one boy is getting a firehouse, the other a farmhouse this Christmas so the people for it have gone in their stockings) bubbles, some matchbox cars and trains. Dd has clothes and a handmade dolly and rainstick in hers, she'll be 10 months.
