Put Santa's present in the stocking if it's so big. That's probably what your mil was thinking.
Other fillers are nuts in their shells and a nut cracker, bag of cherries, dried fruit.
Am I the only person who doesn't do stockings?

nah we never did stockings til they were bought for us, now I fill like i should use them....
good idea bout santas gift too![]()
I haven't done them either. It thread was making me feel bad, glad I'm not the only one who doesn't do them. Dd's birthday is four days before Christmas so it is already present overload at our house.
I have dvd's, undies, bits and pieces from their main present (one boy is getting a firehouse, the other a farmhouse this Christmas so the people for it have gone in their stockings) bubbles, some matchbox cars and trains. Dd has clothes and a handmade dolly and rainstick in hers, she'll be 10 months.
This is the first year i'm doing stockings and we found some HUGE ones at Aldi for cheap but they wont be getting FILLED.
I am going to wrap all the girls presents and put them IN the stockings with only 1 or 2 sitting out, they are getting a trampoline from US so it's quite a big present and then everything else i have picked up has been on special etc.
At the moment we have PJ's, A LivGirl doll, stick on earrings, bubbles, water pistol ($1 Big W bargain), Floaties, FOam back floats, Dive Rings, Inflatable ring for the creek, Skirt, Dress, COloring Book, Santa Book, Rudolph Book, Rudolph Chocolate, Candy Canes, Hula Hoop and i think a couple of other little things.
I should try and find something big & Chunky to go in there aswell
But we don't normally even do this many gifts, 1 big thing then say 2-3 little things and thats it... this yr they know a bit more so i don't mind, and we have spent little amounts to buy lots IYKWIM but i refuse to buy them crap they don't nneed or wont use so it's all mummy approved![]()
Mighty Beanz, small bottle of bubbles, small wind-up toy, a poopin reindeer, temporary tattoos, hair ties or clips, lip balm, small toy car etc. I've also put in edibles like chocolate coins, a candy cane or a christmas gingerbread. I usually only put a 3 or 4 things in, basically the stockings keep the kids amused long enough for us to get another 20 mins in bed.
Added a $10 plastic cricket set (woolies) and plastic golf set - all for outside but chunks up the stocking
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
I went to a shop in Malvern (Melb Metro) called Parenthood & they have a lot of little knick kancky things. I got a mask (mouse I think), a puzzle that can be done in the car/on a plane, some bubble stuff. Elsewhere I got some undies, singlets
