Your colour scheme/theme for Christmas this year?

We have a *very* big box of decorations, so every year I only use a selection of ornaments, etc, for a particular colour theme.

Last year it was Pink pink pink (and a tiny bit of silver) because of the breast cancer theme.

But this year, DD and I saw a lovely display in one of those luscious homewares shop, they had a white tree, and colours were light blue, lime green and sparkly white. So I'm going to rummage around in the box and see if you can do that this year.

What will your colour scheme/theme for Christmas decorating be this year?

I am going red and white - inspired by a gorgeous tree and wrapping paper at spotlight - I have got a lovely striped paper, a reindeer red and white paper and another star one - drool! I have also bought a large red and white check fabric which I will make some hand made deccys out of.

We never have a colour theme but my Dad is the master of the improvised tree. Since we so often spend Christmas away from home he's an expert at decorating old branches/driftwood/artificial palms etc. Usually with whatever is at hand.

Red, gold, silver has been our theme for the last couple of years so I'm adding a bit of green to it this year.

Perhaps it reflects my life, but our tree is generally colour filled and a little chaotic with a few paper chains and homemade fimo decos from my childhood thrown in!

I love the blue silver look and have always admired a nice tree though!

I've purchased a new white christmas tree which is only 150cm tall so it'll fit nicely in our house. I also purchased white LED lights and they arrived today so are on the tree as I type. I'm waiting until tomorrow to decorate it with dh and bub even though he wont remember a thing it's still our 1st christmas as a family I'd like to decorate in silver but I have heaps of hand made beaded/sequen (sp) decorations which I love and they are multicoloured I will put them on and see what I think tomorrow.

We usually stick to traditional colours, however I do LOVE LOVE LOVE the gorgeous trees they do in stores with blues etc!

One day I will do it, just not this year I don't think. Might have to drag all the decos out this weekend and see what we have though!

I love the sound of the lime green, blue & white

We have never had a theme or plan before but this year Panda & I have decided we are doing purple & silver. It's ended up with a bit of pink thrown in. I have no idea why we chose those colours, I like the sound of everyone else's much better

Red and silver but we have some funky multi-color lights that will be hung somewhere this year aswell.
I like to think i do OK with our tree but my friends mum is the queen, she has these MASSIVE trees and used to do it with the real little candles and suff attached.. makes me so so jealous.

HERE was my attempt last year... ohh and a CHEAP way to decorate HERE:
Use left over baubles in cute little vases.. i had vases as part of a candle set, perfect height and super cute

I have to get Z a bauble with her name this year (you know the plastic ones so my ferals don't break them ) and i have bought the girls little leadlights things for their windows and a WELCOME sign with santa attached, might let A pick some cute lil ornaments though.. ohh now you have me excited

I am a bit of a traditionalist and we go with the red green and gold theme.......he traditional green is gradually being replaced with lime green however as that really pops on the traditonal green tree. oh and I own way way way too many christmas lights...It takes hubby a good few days to set them all up each year.....I can't wait for Christmas this year, my first with my little family...its gonna rock!!

Jodi your tree sounds beautiful! Do you have purple LED lights? I wanted to buy some purple, blue and white ones off ebay but purple and blue just don't 'go' in my lounge room but I think it would look so pretty.

I've ended up going with silver, green, red and gold on my white tree with white LED lights and it's looking lovely so far. So wish the star I have was in silver not gold and I've been trying to think on ways to change it lol I don't think I can though so I might put it on for now until I find a silver one in town next Tuesday

We usually go with a silver base colour and this year the extra colour is going to be a lovely rich purple - found some gorgeous ribbon in my favourite shop that will go on the presents, that's where the inspiration is from. Going to go back to the shop and stock up on more today. Did all the Christmas wrapping I could do on Thursday while DD was with mum, so won't have to do that when the baby gets here. Can't put up the tree until December, though (one of my "rules"!).
