I get what you mean ZF, PIL had something rigged up like that for their dogs. Might be something we could do.

We take our dog camping all the time. We usually just tie her to the car but she's crazy tied up so we often let her off the lead, which is totally against the rules where we camp. Lucky I know the ranger

Our dog sleeps in our tent with us at night.

We have a beagle too, so I know what you mean about being strong. We do what ZF suggested, and have a runner strung between the trees so he has a fair bit of movement. We also take him with us when we go swimming in the river, climbing the mountain etc, so he doesn't bark at the cattle at night

Mostly he sleeps in the back of the jeep at night, so he doesn't annoy other campers and for his own protection too. He has an iron bladder, and doesn't seem to need any toilet trips during the night.

He does, however, jump over the back seat and make himself completely at home... you know how they like to lie on their backs and stick their little stocky legs in the air?

LOL Mistyfying, I can just see two beagles lying side by side with their feet up in the air.

Tinks - maybe I should get to know your ranger too :P

Sleeping isn't an issue. She loves her sleep at night, and will sleep wherever we put her. We have an annex on the camper that can be closed, so they'll sleep in there.
