Pre kids, dog and cat - absolutely. Quite a few occasions in my 20s and early 30s where we'd have Friday afternoon phone calls about where we were meeting up for a drink after work that turned into a "the plane leaves at X" conversation, and heaps where we'd have a "let's head off at Y" for a weekend away down south or something.
