The tram car restaurant is meant to be terrific too. A really old tram, that goes around the city & suburbs, with magnificent meals.
I haven't been, but apparantly the aquarium is excellent too.
a lot of people go down the great ocean road... but it's a few hours drive along the coast. it's nice, scenic & relaxing... but depends how long you were coming for and if you'll have a car. Nice to do that if you stay overnight over that way.
You can go to Daylesford which is about 45 min drive from the city - and it's the Day Spa centre!! there are natural springs, and loads of hippy spa centres. Great for relaxation.
Some good stage shows in Melbourne at the moment.
Not sure about 'adventurous stuff'.... hang on... my hubby did a V8 race car drive around calder park... that was an adrenelin rush.
You can also do hot air balloon rides around Melbourne.
