Is there room to put a single mattress on the floor?

Try Hire for Baby in Vermont - she is lovely and would have portacots and full sized cots I would think! Give her a buzz and she what she has. I bought my Amby hammock second hand from her!

My Mum picked up kids sleeping bags with a blow up mattress from kmart for about $30 for when the grandkids come to visit. Maybe get your Dad to get one of these? She bought them in the last couple of weeks.

No I don't think so, the portacot only just fits.

Thanks Tanstar, I'll check her out.

HotI- would it be ok to sleep on for a week? I'l have a look at them when we're at the shops next.

    Thanks Ladies

Penny from Hire for Baby in Vermont is lovely . I took over Round N Round from her and bought my Amby baby hammock from her too haha (weird full circle thing...)!

Would you consider using a bed rail/guard with a normal bed?

i would suggest getting a bed rail for the spare bed - that is how my DS2 sleeps (in a normal KS bed) and we havent had any probs
It may also work to get a fold out bed from KMart or Target - think theyy cost about $70 and they are also useful for sleepovers etc
