YEP! I actually bit the bullet and spent money on Hot Milk stuff last month (after not having ANY new undies since Jazz was born!) and I felt so guilty I threw up. I also walk around the shops with things I want, and then put them back before I leave. I won $60 worth of Big W vouchers (yeah, not THAT much) and I let Shel spend it on her and Jazz... I'd love to be able to spend on me but I just feel selfish, I'd rather know Shel and Jazz get what they need/want.

I dont think I could name the last thing I bought myself....

The last time I went to a hairdresser, I was pregnant with my 11 yr old..I have reused my maternity gear over and over..my shoes are all years old... my "youngest" shoes are 8 yrs old!!

I just splurged yesterday, (Ad made me) on a winter coat. $38. I still feel sick. But my old.. I left home with!!! At 18!!!

But hey, if the kids need mcn, clothes, shoes etc... always first on the list.

And to be honest, it doesn't bother me. I can manage to still look hot as, Just in 90's gear!!!

Welcome to motherhood babe. I think you've just explained the reason why mothers get slippers and PJs for mothers day but dads get golf clubs and power tools...LOL.

DD1 had $85 of new winter gear the other day...I'm still wearing my mat bras (DD2 is 18 mths old) .

Oh gosh, you're all so good! I am definitely more tightfisted with myself since having DS, alot more in fact, but if I need something, and no one else is going to miss out, then I buy it for myself. I don't have my hair done every six weeks anymore, but more like every 3-4 months. I'm not that selfless that I can go without everything . Although buying new things is a real treat for me these days, and it's only what I really need, TBH I think it would make me quite depressed and unhappy if I never ever had anything nice and new.

Sammi, you need to justify it for yourself........think of what you're saving in car costs by walking the boys to school.......more than it would cost for a good pair of shoes I bet! If you're doing that much walking you need good support . Do you want me to come up with more reasons???

Oh thank god I thought it was just me. I never spend money on myself because just like you all I feel incredibly guilty. I try to buy things for myself and I come home with heaps of stuff for DD and DH.
DH actually surprised me and made me a hair cut appt for next saturday so I feel good for my birthday. It's my 30th in two weeks and everything on my list is things I need for hospital for this baby and practical household things.

and i thought i was the only one!

my biggest one is socks! i literally have to have ONE pair of socks left with no holes before i tell myself 'ok, dont be silly.. buy some socks!!!'

the only time i spend money on myself is when i get a tax return. the same as dp, he doesnt go shopping, so its up to me to get stuff for him (at tax time as well)

i think its called "burnt chop syndrome" well, thats what my sister calls it anyway..

I think most of us are guilty of it.. i dont hestiate to spend money on Aiden, but, really have to think about it to spend money on me. Esp clothes etc. Although, i do now get my hair done every 10weeks, cut, colour, foils etc.. thats about the only thing i do for me.

I desperatly need new winter shoes.. the ones i have will be fine, provided it doesnt rain but, spending that money on myself, i find it difficult to justify.

    So glad i'm not alone.

Although this morning has made me want to go buy myself a jumper because its so freezing here (still foggy at 10am!) and i have none! May have to ask DH to go buy it so i dont feel as guilty!
