We're on a busy-ish road and the road noise bugs me.
Our toilets are reeeeeeeeeeeally loud when you flush them... being pregnant it sucks when I am going to the bathroom 2 times a night and knowing the loud flush in our ensuite could wake poor DH who has to be up at 4am.
No dishwasher in a huge, modern kitchen.
The oven is too small... I can't fit my favourite cookie tray in it
No fence in the front yard... a fence would make me stress a little less about DS2 going out the front (which he isn't allowed to do)

Other than that, I love my house

It's too god damn big. It takes forever to clean.

Our house is 34sqm, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 living areas, study, rumpus, seperate dining.

Before constructing this house we were about to construct a 45sqm double storey house with 4 bedrooms and each had an ensuite with a powder room downstairs too.

I would've definitely thrown a tanty each time i had to clean that house!

Alioops, I would definitely complain about the neighbours' dogs. That is so inconsiderate. I have a dog myself (who barks only when the neighbour's cat gets into ourr yard once every week or soo, and then only does 2-3 barks and that's it). But I can't understand people that let their dog bother the neighbours all night. I would feel guilty.
We have a neighbour's dog who yaps all night most nights, too. Makes me so angry. It used to keep DD awake. I think he barks at bats. Lucky, it's not our immediate neighbours so there is a little distance. But it makes me so angry. Not at the dog, but at the owners. They're never home, so the dog is pretty neglected and just plain bored.

Turkish Delight, I can so see where you are coming from. DH is dreaming about buying a house and he was showing me a 5 bedroom, 2 loungeroom, dining room, 3 bathroom mansion. i said: Only if we can get a cleaning lady. I have enough work to do with 3 bedrooms. Thanks.
But I think you might have made a typo with your square meterage. 34sqm is tiny. The average loungeroom is probably about 25-30sqm. A bedroom that is 5m long and 4m wide is 20sqm.

One otherthing that annoys me about our place is DH's "toys" A few surfboards and fishing rods are normal. But then he takes up half the driveway with a boat (small runabout), half the garage with a trailer,... No space to put some shelving for storage. Oh, and he only just sold his VW beetle that he was doing up and is talking about getting another old car. We don't have the space (let alone the time or money).

I hate that the laundry and kitchen are bedside each other, but separate. To move from one to the other you either have to go outside or through the living and down the hall. Makes going outside hard as my shoes will often be at the other door, also a lot more crud gets walked through the house due to it. There is not enough paving outside the laundry, plus it is a shady area so grass does not grow. It just becomes a mud pit.

Annoyed that only the back toilet in the 3rd bedroom is on bore water, the one in the bathroom is on tank, so we try not to use it but it is the most convenient toilet.

I loathe the computer corner, it is just piled up crap upon crap. DH will not keep it tidy, he is excuse is that I create the piles and it is already neat He needs a set of drawers.

We need a proper dog run. We have to keep the dog in the paved area off the kitchen over night and when we go out. It reeks of dog poo and limits going in and out of that area to the shed. At the moment we can't have people over for BBQ's etc and it is so embarrassing if someone comes to the back door and we have not yet done the poo clean up. Also it limits the kids going out into a covered area to play.

    34 squares (not including garage)

Do not get conned into buying a big house, unless DH will help out. I'm lucky enough that he does, but when i do a BIG clean, it takes me ALL day.

    I am soooo over it.

It's an old house so it has absolutely NO storage - no wardrobes, no cupboards, no linen press! Plus DP loves to collect junk (seems to be a male thing) and has no idea how to tidy or organise so I end up throwing his junk out when he isn't home

I'm going to get one of those ladder things to get some attic storage as we have enough space for another couple of rooms in our roof.

*** Tinkerbell .... YOU could call it your Tinkerbell Magical Dust
    I could! I had'nt thought of that

    I also hate....

    - My kitchen!! It has a BLUE TILE bench which is a nightmare to clean. THere are also no drawers in the kitchen!

    - My house is ALL wood. From, floor, ceiling and even walls. It reflects everything as orange. I just need some plaster and COLOUR somewhere.

    - I have a room next to the kitchen which is simply unuseable and a complete waste of space! It's too small for a table so it just gets everything shoved in it. We're renovating the kitchen soon and pushing it back into that room. YAY for more useable space!

Another really irritating thing about our house is that there is no door on our ensuite. We can't leave our bedroom door open when we have guests (helps us to keep it clean if we have someone able to look in there) if one of us is going to the toilet.

We have tiles through the whole house, even the bedrooms. PITA to have to sweep every day. Would just prefer the dust to settle into some carpet and vacume once a week.

I hate my house. Its too freakin small. Like, its TINY. We are overflowing at the seams and will be even worse when the 3rd bub comes along.

I hate the fact that its old, so there are millions of cobwebs that appear on the walls overnight.

I hate the fact that it is so old there is NO storage, no linen cupboard, no pantry - nothing.

I hate that the backyard really isn't suitable for toddlers. Too many places to fall off from biggish heights.

But I do like my hardwood timber floors

I don't know what our new one is, but it's going to be so much better laid out!

Our walls The previous owners thought it would be awesome to paint the open-plan living area walls blue and purple and then to match them with blue, purple and silver striped curtains. I feel like I am walking into a nightmare circus tent every morning. In the lounge they thought a mustard feature wall would also be pretty - to go with some red and gold striped curtains. It is all just horrible and it makes our home so dark and makes everything look so small.

It has taken us a year to save up for a house-wide professional paint job and it starts on Thursday! I. CAN'T. WAIT! We are going latte tones with off-white accents. Next project is the candy-striped curtain replacement.

Other than the indoor rainbow nightmare, we love our home

Lack of storage space. We have a double garage but only room for my little Barina because the rest of it is filled with STUFF. The good car has to sit in the driveway - and we're only 400m from the beach so the paintwork is starting to go on it.

DD's wardrobe is full of boxes (like DH's 100 Dr Who books!!) so who knows where it is going when she needs more space. And there is no space whatsoever in the spare room wardrobe.

We do not get enough light into the main iving area. It is always a few degrees colder out there in winter and yet I tend to be out there in the kitchen while DD and DH play in the sun in the other room.

DH is currently designing our next house and the garage is twice the size of the current place and the living areas are all along the north with big windows (but good eaves to keep the sun out in summer)

That it's small and if you don't put things back exactly where you got them from it gets very messy/cluttered very quick!

Also, it's lack of storage. ATM I'm trying to convince DF to make secure space in the roof so I can store things up there.

BUT, it's on a nice sized block (1125m2) in a very quiet cul de sac, and has potentiel for extentions

I'm so glad you're getting someone to paint that for you!! Sounds like it's going to take a billion coats of paint to get rid of that artwork
Make sure you take some before and after photos!
