Air Conditioners

The most recommended down here is Daikin. We are hoping to get ours soon.

Our main aim is to use it for heating though (split system). And because we get cold winters, the Daikins are meant to be the best for low temperatures. I think they are also the most expensive, but they are the ones everybody goes for here.

We have a Daikin split system in our home.
Not sure how long it has been here for though... it stopped working the other day and is in line to be fixed (waiting on the air con guys)
Up until it stopped working it was fantastic! Heats really well and cools down brilliantly.

Thanks for that girls. We have air con installers doing it for us and they have given us those options I am steering more towards a fujitsu. I am just sick of humidity up here!

Get an inverter, they use less energy. Also google energy star rating and get the most efficient one you can afford - saves you money in the long run. I have a panasonic inverter - they are the only ones who work in the cold down here, but you don't have to worry about the a/c working in cold (minus degrees), just keeping up with the heat! You might also want to consider some other energy efficiency options for your climate - heavy drapes can help keep the heat out, and improve the efficiency of the a/c..

My husband and I have just bought a Mitsubishi air conditioner for the new house we are building. We were talking to a lady at the good guys who told us that they are the top brand on the air conditioning market at the moment and a few other people have said the same thing since we bought it.

We picked up the largest Mitsubushi air con you can buy, which will heat and cool our whole house (reverse cycle) for $1300 on special from $2200

We have Daikin Inverter systems throughout our home and will continue to use that brand when we get them installed in the remaining bedrooms. We had a really great guy that installed them and his only word of warning when choosing brands of AC is to stay far, far away from any Chinese-made systems. HTH
