Hehe Ali I had the exact same thought... for a while I called it the "couch bonus".

Trish my DH has said all along that if we get any spare cash its going to go onto the mortgage... boring men, aren't they??

Good idea though to work out how much it would save us in the long run.

And we don't actually have the 5k... I was just day-dreaming... sigh!
