And thanks everyone, still nothing happening here. Just hope something happens soon so I don't have to think about what interventions I might have to have.
Beautiful photos thanks for sharing xx
Still going here! Have had contractions on and off since 2am yesterday morning but all stopped at 9pm last night. Woke up to a show this morning so hopefully a good sign and that the contractions will start up again. Have had a couple but need a few more to check for consistency I guess. It's very frustrating though as I'm now 12 days over. I'm telling myself a show is a good sign though. But just want to meet Bub already!
Show and contractions are an awesome sign. You're gearing up now em :) Lots of birthing vibes to you!
Eutra, so beautiful! Thankyou so much for sharing.
Sending you beautiful, joyous birth blessings Em xx :loveshower:
Yay! Em, your baby will be in your arms soon.
ooh la la, Cassius has a new avi!
Go Em!!!! Wont be long now :) Whats the bet you'll disappear on us tonight when the sun goes down ;)
Sorting out my birth pool - getting one from the lovely Lisa Chalmers at Simply Birth - anyone used those pools? Thinking we'll go with the bigger one but need to measure up the bedroom tonight and make sure it'll all fit, then soon do a test run and see how long it takes to fill etc. Cant believe its getting down to the action end, still a little while to go but I need to be prepared as my babies seem to be coming earlier each time! My son was either 7 or 9 days early, can't remember, but I am happy to be surprised with a later birth, so much to do! Placenta encapsulation is all sorted, have someone to organise that for me, I am really intrigued to see how I feel after the birth this time :) Never expected I would do something like this with my previous births, but at worst case, I wont notice anything at all, no harm done. But loving all the positive feedback from so many who have done it. Not one person has said it was a waste of time or money, or did nothing for them.
Oohhh Kelly! so so so much fun setting up the birth pool! we had a pre-birth pool party in ours
I am very keen to do the encapsulating this time around. anything that might help stave off PND!!
HotI: aww shucks, thanks love! I made it myself...with a lot of norti words along the way....i am soooo not technical hahahaha
Em sounds like you're probably either in full on labour or well on the way by now with lots of productive early labour yesterday. ;) Sending beautiful birthing vibes your way.
Kelly we had a bigger sized one (not that brand). Could have fitted additional people in it, but didn't! We borrowed ours, but bought a liner. I needed the extra bottom padding and the sturdy handles on the sides.

This was my birthpool. I borrowed it from my midwife. It actually had a small hole that we repaired with a pool patch. THe midwife was haapy with our handywork cos it had been sitting there not being used for awhile due to the hole. We had a liner, and in the excitement/rush DH forgot to put it in.
Robyn, one of the mws my mw works with (they all come to our HB get togethers), told us an extremely funny story about a birth she attended where the birth pool sprung a couple of leaks. Older children had to be woken to help Nana bail it out so it didn't completely flood the living room! Birth went smoothly regardless and the Mumma didn't even realise.
Mine was an Aquaborn. The leaky pool was a cheaper brand that had already been used a couple of times.

My midwife was at a birth and they were moving a candle to get a bit more light and it went too close to the birthpool and put a hole in it. Luckily it was a double wall one and they were able to fix it enough with gaffa tape to hold while the baby was born. I reckon every midwife must have a birthpool story
Woohooo for contractions and show, Em! That baby is on it's way. :) Can't wait to see your BA!
Thankfully our own bathtub is big enough to birth in, so we didn't have any birthpool drama. Worked really well - it's a corner tub with jets.
Wow Kelly - can't believe you're getting so close to the end too. Seems to go so fast for those of us not actually carrying the baby.... ;)
Thanks Em and PZ for your comments :)
I had the same pool as HotI and it was perfect for me but I think it might have been a bit squishy if DH hopped in as well? I liked being able to move around and change positions each contraction.
Em, you've been in my thoughts all day - hope those contractions and the show have progressed and you're snuggled up in bed with your new baby! :)
Kelly & Cassius - I'd love to have our placenta encapsulated next time. I'll have to get details off you Kelly when it comes to that time!
No baby yet! Contractions 20-30mins overnightand have been 5-20mins since this morning so not really that regular.
Every contraction is one contraction closer to meeting your little one- and you never have to have that one again! Rest up when you can. xx
Sending you beautiful birthing blessings em! This little bubba is a smart cookie and is making a glorious smooth, slow entry to the world. I hope things get to the business end for you soon xx
Em lots of early labour will hopefully mean your body goes quickly when it's time. My mw warned me that things can stop and start for days. Overnight slowing down helped me sleep. My guess is you probably won't be tonight though. ;)
Hoping I'm making a BA soon ladies.
MW is staying at em's now til bubs is here.
I'll let you know more as I know :)

Hooray! Another baby! Congratulations em and family
Congratulations Em!! :)
So I am thinking I might jump in here if you will have me. I have been very slow off the mark, but I am feeling the need to to talk more birthy stuff now that I am getting closer to the end. I am 'due' at the end of August but I am hoping for a September baby... So we will see what baby decides :)
I have just sent out an email to my support people to get everyone organised for the big day and I have purchased a birth pool that should be here next week. I decided to buy it so other women who want to labour at home can borrow it... Maybe it will encourage more homebirths ;)
Come on in Tanya! :) We'll talk birth stuff with you to your heart's content. ;)
Squeeee, Tanya!! So lovely to have you in the fold.
Have you used a birth pool before? You might want to get a liner if you intend for the pool to be reused - which is a fantastic idea btw! I borrowed my birth pool and there are many women in my HB circle who look to do the same. The good ones aren't cheap to buy.
Does anyone else get excited when our list grows?
I've been waiting for you Tan ;) Glad to see you finally here hun x
OoOOo eeerrr am I next?!
Jen, I birthed in a friends pool with Odin, it was a kids inflatable pool with an inflatable bottom. It was bigger than birth pools but it did the job. :) I bought a made in water one... I think and I have a liner here so I'm set in that department :)
Seems there are no June or July bubs, so I guess you are next, Kell :)
I am presently doing some cooking for Em... and a friend who is having #6 and #7 via c/s in a couple of weeks. Then I suppose I better stock my freezer with yummy food for babymooning :)
