On a sombre HB note, the IM Sonja MacGregor that was reported by Nepean Hospital (for transferring a woman in her own car, nothing more) has been ordered to do further training - courses that cost $6k. She can't attend HBs in the meantime. There's fundraising going on today via FB, pm me if you'd like details.

At the film on Friday night there was a new HB mum who had Sonja as her m/w up until the order - just a few weeks before her bub was due. She booked into the closest hospital, with no other IMs available, but had a freebirth at home instead. This is the reality for IMs and mums who depend on them in Australia.

Bub was born fine and both Mum and bub did go to get checked out at the hospital afterwards to get the all clear.

I am appalled that an IM with so much experience and a great record could be subject to such action and threat to her livelihood with so little cause.
