    Hi Everyone!!

Welcome WM, I hope you have a great journey to birth!!!

I have a question for you all.... I have had shocking heartburn the last two days, i have been lucky to have only ever had it in one out of three pregnancies!! But i ate something really chilli and since then it has been so bad. Yesterday I took to drinking peppermint tea which helped I think, except it is SO hot here that I was sweating like a crazy person while I was drinking it. I tried it cold and it didn't seem to have the same affect. Has anyone else got some natural tips they can share? I will cut out sugar (boo hoo) and my bed is up on an angle... is there anything natural I can chew that you know of???

sorry LBF i have no idea! i had it on and off pretty bad with DD3 (avoided it with the other 2 pregnancies)...i ate some yoghurt in the evenings and that had some temporary relief, but because it wasnt awful bad just got away with that so didnt look too much further into it.

1/4 tsp bi carb soda mixed into watered down lemon juice or orange juice (about 1/4cup) and mix till it fizzes then drink. Try to cut out as much dairy as you can as that causes heartburn even though it may be soothing whilst drinking it.

Congrats WM, homebirth is the best if not support by a private midwife is also good!

Hey All! Haven't been around for a bit, but I just thought I'd pop in and say I'M BACK! Looks like Baby #7 will be joining us, if all goes well, in early September. Still slightly shocked, but also pretty excited. Will talk to the midwives on Monday, and hopefully schedule an ultrasound to nail down a more definite due date.

Congrats Cricket!!! Another little bug on its way.

(Although I must admit I am now at the stage where AF is a relief each month... )

I'll just hang around and see if the same bug catches us in a couple of years, if you don't mind.

DD2 had her birthday party on the weekend and had a ball. It's fun having a one year old around again. Makes me look forward to all the things I know are coming in the next couple of years that we enjoyed so much with DD1.

Must get to work now, the holidays are pretty much over for me!

Yay 2 hb pg announcements for 2013 and we are only one week in!
Huge congratulations to WM and cricket, hoping for happy healthy pregnancies for you both

LBF I haven't had a lot of experience with heartburn but other than just bicarb you can get eno which is actually just bicarb, sodium carbonate and citric acid but has a lemony flavour so its kinda easier to drink than just plain bicarb

Cassius thanks for thinking of me sweet. I'm doing alright, somedays I get a little down and worry about her quite a bit but I'm definitely trying to do all I can to help things along. Have ultrasound booked for Thursday week so i guess ill know at least a little more by then. On the plus side I can definitely feel a lot more movement now so she's strong enough to kick through and around anterior placenta now, that eases some worry usually

Sara hope you're feeling well and more relaxed about things as each day passes.

Jennifer hang around as long as you want (in my opinion!) your experience encouragement and insight are bound to keep helping women in here!

Thanks for the congrats ladies. This was a bit of a shock to us - we were hoping for a LITTLE more time in between babies, but I am healthy and strong, back below my pre-pregnant weight (it's been a 10 year battle, interrupted by pregnancy... Finally at a healthy weight now!) and starting to wrap my mind around the news. Doing a little online shopping/looking at all the cute maternity stuff available this season. I'm hoping for an early dating scan, and if all is well there, then we might go ahead an announce this bean to friends and family. Trying to hide morning sickness while caring for 6 small people is going to be tough!

WM - Congratulations to you too! Glad to have a HB belly buddy.

Just joining in here! I've been in contact with three different IMs to start the homebirth process, and I'm getting very excited! I'm hoping one just really stands out as perfect so it won't make the decision hard, but I don't know how I'll say no to the others, I'm no good at that stuff lol.

Hi Sepata! Congratulations! Another belly buddy - September is filling up fast!

I called my midwives and they said "They'd try to fit me in." Gulp. Here's hoping they try hard! They are figuring on an August 30 due date right now though, since that's what my LMP says, but I'm pretty sure I'm due somewhere in early to mid-September. That should help them find me a spot, I think. We really could use some more midwives around here! I have a message from the hospital also to book my dating scan, so I'll call them back as soon as they open this morning.

Hope everyone is feeling well. The news tells me that it's been blazing hot in AUS lately, and that the wildfires are crazy. (It's a cold snowy winter here in Canada) I hope you all are safe!
