oh Rae hope it happens soon for you.

Well since having lots of thought about what to do, seems this mornings delivery made up my mind. We received our oxygen cylinders for the home birth.
I am going to wait til baby comes naturally or unless medically needed. I very much doubt my grandad would want us to put baby and I at higher risk or complications. Once Monday hits though at 37 weeks I will be starting EPO and trying all natural methods.

Beatrix, when you said he lives for his grandchildren the thought that he wouldn't want you to compromise on what's best for you both came straight to my mind. I hope he knows you equally want what's best for him because you love him.

Fx, Ree, Wed is still a long way away.

    Hi all,
Just wanted to sub to the thread as I've had a dating scan done and am due for the 1st of November 2013. This is my 5th pregnancy and third baby, and this time i'm desperate almost to homebirth
I'll be revisiting my GP next week to begin organising things and touch base after the scan, and am hoping I run into no issues as a result of my last pregnancy, which was difficult due to Cervical Incompetency.
Any advice/support would be very welcome
All the best Ree Ree! Sending you lovely labour vibes from us here in 6030 xx

Welcome Sunnylove, and congrats on the new little one on the way!
Love the look of that homebirth list....

ReeRee - Wednesday is still ages away - don't stress. Can you plan some nice, distracting things for the next couple days? A pedicure? Massage? Lunch with friends? Start a small project for baby (crochet, knit, sew, draw, paint, whatever)? Go for some acupuncture to help things get started...? I'm sure it will be just fine.

Beatrix - all the best with your grandad! Hope that little one makes a timely appearance.

Hello home birthing Mumma's. I'm finally transcribing DD's spontaneous unplanned home birth. Where's the best place to post it on BB? Is there a separate section for home birth stories?
    TIA :-)

we post ours in the normal birth stories section but them link them to a thread here in the HB section (we also prefix the title of the birth story with homebirth...although in your case it would be cool to put 'unplanned HB' as i reckon people would find that quite fascinating!).

Ree: make plans that you cannot possibly even cancel...that tends to bring a baby on

many hugs, i would also feel quite stressed at having that time limit...but as others have said at this stage in pregnancy wednesday is still quite faraway

Beatrix it must be stressful knowing he is unwell.

ReeRee: don't stress it's still a few days of I bet you will be fine. Don't worry I know it feels like you will be pregnant forever, but as it happens generally one day you are the next baby could be here hope to hear that you've birthed your bubba soon.

Thanks everyone I am trying everything!!!
Day 2 of successful ctg monitoring all done. I am to go in daily, until Wednesday when my care switches to hospital, and they will induce (ARM then Synto after 1-2 hours)
They tell me that after 40 weeks, the placenta stops growing, while the baby keeps growing, and so the placenta will shut down and my baby will die..
Today's VE shows I am 3cm dilated, 50% effaced, with bulging waters. 2/5 engaged.

Tomorrow I've got DS' birthday lunch party, and then Monday is DS' actual birthday, so I do have firm plans in place! Have had 2 sessions of acupuncture, last night being the most recent. I'm pressing my pressure points, walking up hills, squatting, thrusting, EPO, orgasms, about to pop the breast pump on now.
I am having intense tightenings, just not regularly and only accompanied with lower back and period pain occasionally. I just need *something* to push me over the edge!

dont let them use scare tactics on you Ree!! placental function doesnt drop unyil 43weeks in a nirmal pg. and it is a guess date (despite ivf). dont let them use the dead baby card becsuse that is a threat and a decision made under a threat isn't informed consent!
sending you lots of labour vibes!!!

    ^^ yes that!!!!!

I would ask to continue monitoring. If baby/fluid is looking good then there's nothing to indicate the need for induction!

Your babe will be here before Wednesday. Your body is doing its thang!

It's horrible how they do that. As long as you're being monitored, baby is moving well etc, you will go into labour at some point!

they use the 'dead baby' card ALOT *ree*. I am so so sorry that they pulled that one on you. it is cruel and not true AT ALL.

what kept me calm-ish was the knowledge that in France and Japan 42 weeks is the standard pregnancy (as opposed to 40 weeks) and they look to induce only at 43 weeks! (and as a result the induction rates based on post-dates are substantially less lol).

have you had a big ugly cry? do you think you need one? I know that i had to have one with DD2 and DD3 before they came along needed that BIG emotional release!

...oh, and S.E.X i reckon with bulging waters and so much effacement that it will be super awesome to help remind the body that that baby is welcome to arrive (i reckon that's what tipped us over this last time too )

I know. its not fair because if all they have to say is 'your baby will die' and you will do whatever they want. make them prove your placenta's function is dropping eg by cord flow and fluid levels.
and like Aimz said sounds like your body is getting its self ready anyway!!! wont be long now!
