It didn't fall out the other times?
Mine falls out in clumps right on the 3 month mark - I have a lot, anyway, but it seems to like falling out at my temples, in particular, which is annoying! It'll start growing back - it's just the hair that didn't shed while you were preggers I've been contemplating shearing mine off again, in anticipation of the great shedding. I've been growing it for about a year, though, even though every couple of months I nearly call my hairdresser to cut it all off again...it'll look better short and thin than long and thin, and when it grows out it grows corkscrew tight, so maybe it's better off super short again!
Folding flannel flats tonight, ready to stack into the bookcase, just in case my GF forgets to bring me her MCNs...

Alopcia can occur in pregnancy tho. I have a friend who lost every single hair on her head and 9 years later she is still totally bald. But that is like freaky rare. I loose a bit at my temples after birth whilst breast feeding and this last time it came back with waaayyyy more greys. Not happy! oh well. What do you do?

I was confusing your username with someone else - of course you are, sorry (I mixed up a username/user last week as well, but picked it up myself and edited it in time!)! Yeah, ok, I'd probably mention the hair loss to your mw - that doesn't sound right at all. It's supposed to be luscious now!

I guess if it's happening in pregnancy then perhaps it's a nutrient deficiency? Hope your MW has some answers!

Sorry tegam! I think I have a brain mouth dysfunction when this tired and pregnant. That isn't gonna happen to you. But I would increase your vitamins and minerals. I found that helped with my post birth hair loss a little.

Busy trying to pack so haven't come in here much.

Tegam: my hair did that but was after I had DS1 so much so I did have a bald patch! I seen naturopath and whatever she gave me helped hault it and it started to grow back. My hair started doing it again just now so I'm taking some stuff to see if I can stop it again.

    Re: Homebirth General Discussion #19

Tegam, I really AM having trouble keeping on top of where everyone's at, given that I'm not really in a belly buddies group and we're not all preggers I'm blaming this stage of the pg, I'm as vague as all get out! Have you heard back from the mw?
I had my IM appt today (I need to differentiate between the hospy mw's and my own mw!) and I'm measuring 35 weeks. That's an increase of 4cms in a week! I think we're back on track now I have that US on Friday, too, which I insisted on not paying for!
Meanwhile, these tightenings are becoming really annoying and stop me in my tracks (or annoy the crap outta me while I'm driving).

SJ: And those of us that don't have tickers! When are you due? Or how many weeks are you? Why aren't you in a bb buddies group? I had a great group two children ago and then for my last, fairly awesome that I don't have it in me to do it again I like you girls!

MW said its normal and ok...... Lets hope it slows up soon.

    Re: Homebirth General Discussion #19

That's why I have a pregnancy ticker too hoti. I come on here sometimes just to find an old post I've written to check how many weeks I am. I chose the developmental stages one so I can learn a little about how baby is going while I'm at it

Bahahahaha meow! Hoti there is such a difference between first babies and the rest. DD1 I knew exactly what was happening in there! I don't want a ticker yet....makes the time go to slow if you ask me I know I have to get ready just after meow has her bub

    Re: Homebirth General Discussion #19

I totally forgot about creating a ticker this time!! I switched off tickers a few years ago - I can't remember why, but it's stayed off, so if the info isn't in a signature then I'm flying blind
Tegam, good news that the mw is optimistic about the hair loss. I'm 38 weeks and I keep track via my diary (I've marked off the weeks...I still have a paper diary, no laughing - my phones not 'smart'...) and my Woollies email that comes every week, cos that info would never just stay in my head!
A couple of others are in the same belly buddies 'boat' as I am - our BB belly buddies defected to FB after finding each other on here and I didn't want to do it on FB (I've paid for Life Subscriber, dammit!), so I was left out of that, which means a baby buddies group will be made up of mamas who weren't preggy together, unless baby buddies defect, too :/ Sad story, huh? I still have a core circle of each of the previous belly and baby buddies that I'm in touch with, so it's a bit sad that it's fallen apart for the 3rd baby.

But this group is even nicer than belly buddies as we have all been friends for heaps of bubs!

    Re: Homebirth General Discussion #19

I never had good success with my belly buddies groups. I found all the "my OB wont let me..." stuff drove me crazy and I never related that well in the pregnancy journey. Though I didn't try very hard in the group for my second baby. This one the group went to FB and I resisted for a while but I've joined now and I'm really liking it. I love this group though because you all understand me better and I can come in here and talk about things like the problems with my hepatitis and having a HB and I know you will get it and how big a deal that is.

if only we could all time to have babies in the same month then we could just take over the BB threads! Such a pity that so many go to FB. just not the same...you need a bigger village than just the info and support from a single group IMHO. *gets off soapbox*

Tegam: I also had crazy hairloss with my third baby. but i was, i reckon pretty run down overall. each of my previous pg i had luscious locks that grew in crazy abundance.

Meow: almost birth proportion limbs! wahoo! can you feel any kicking at all yet?? Let me live vicariously through you....oh, and you up for some visitors in November? we are planning a trip over...just trying to work out the exact dates!

SJ: how relieving that baby is making up for the growing! wahoo! such sweet relief!
