I didn't ask because i didn't think it looked like Freya was ready to answer meow But now you have gone there i think she should have to spill right??

Thanks for your advice meow. No nothing is offered in summer or winter poo They are changing the course next year to be longer and i was hoping if i was further into my bit then they would let me continue on the same amount of units. My original goal (before this pregnancy) was to finish before i was 40. Thats 8 semesters away and i have 5 units to do…. So i guess i can take the time off. Its just hard prioritising.

    I plead the 5th

ETA - I swear in a few weeks I'll maybe spill my guts. Hopefully.

And hopefully I'll be able to park my butt in here and get added to that list

I can only say what I would do... it's worth giving it plenty of thought as to what works best for you Tegam.

No need to spill Freya... we'll be here whenever you're ready to share about your friend

Tegam-Sorry I cant help, I have not done anything school related for a long time!

DH and I were chatting last night and we both agreed that we have done nothing this pregnancy to prepare for the birth, but when I think about it I'm not sure what to 'do' to prepare. I've decided to set up our birth room earlier than planned, and I'm going to start the hours of birth vid's on youtube. But what else, I think maybe Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, I'll have to get a copy. I'm seeing my midwife this week so I'll chat to her about it too. But any suggestions?? I feel like I'm not spending the time I did with my last pregnancy getting into the right head space, and I'm really struggling to do so.
    Hope that made sense?

Just ducking in to ask a question. What are the homebirth options in Perth, does anyone know or have any experience with it?

    Thanks!
Hi freya, its a bit of a fluke that I've come looking on here today (i haven't been on bb for about a year!) So I figure maybe I was meant to... I've had 2 HBs through community midwifery (now called 'the bump WA' I believe), it was great to be able to birth on the public system at home but I doubt I would through them again. This is entirely my personal preference mostly stemming from wanting a less legalistic pregnancy and birth than they are willing to offer now.
My mw from those births (#3 & #4) is working as an IM now with another mw at 'simply midwifery' and I would highly recommend them. Check out their site and the birth stories perhaps?
There was last time I checked at least another two groups of IMs offering hb as one of their services but it depends where abouts in Perth you are and what your thoughts are on costs.
I hope you find the information you need :-)

    Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21

Wow, a 2015 list already! That seems crazy! Mind you, I am completely in denial about how close I am to my due date... I went into a pregnancy app on my phone this morning, and it informed me there are only 4 weeks and 4 days till my EDD! That sure made my heart jump into my throat! I can't believe I'll be holding my little bubba in my arms so soon - surely I only found out I was pregnant the other day!

I had an appointment with my midwife two days ago - though it feels wrong calling them appointment somehow. More like a chat with a lovely friend, who also happens to check my blood pressure and have a feel of baby haha. Anyway, it had been 7 weeks since I had seen her (I saw my secondary midwife in between), and I had really missed her. We had a lovely chat about the birth, including a lot of the practical stuff... The birth pool (which I am hiring through the birth centre she is part of) will be delivered here after the next woman has her bubba (due July 4th). Then we'll have it here to have a practise run and iron out any glitches, etc. I can't wait till we have it here - then I feel like I can set up my birth space... and then it will all feel very, very real!
I am getting stuck into my reading now, and really trying to get into the right headspace for the birth. The pregnancy yoga class I have been going to (well, it's actually more of birthing yoga class - called Sacred Birth) is run by a doula, and so much of what we do there I am finding myself bringing into my thinking for the birth. I'm really starting to get excited, and finding myself visualising myself in labour, etc.

Anyway, that's where I'm at for now. Am I next in line on our list?
