Marcellus, Just trust your body will do the right thing. It's hard I guess when it hasn't happened naturally before, but keep telling yourself it will happen- positive thinking is amazing. Sorry i'm no help really cos this is my first time and I don't know what to expect.

I'm just worried that I won't actually go into labour... again... She was very reassuring, but I can't quite shake the feeling that it just can't happen.
I was exactly the same when pregnant with Eden, since I went to 42 weeks with Mehkelti and there was no sign of her ever wanting to come out. I was more worried about going into labour, than I was about labouring. I found visualisation helped me, every night in the shower I would sit there and visualise a baby coming out between my legs and lifting it up to my chest - so I think that helped put it into my mind that even though it hadn't happened for me before, it was going to happen this time. Different pregnancy, different birth.

    It WILL happen for you.

Marc: yeah i am thinking back to my calmbirth class and totally agree with Arimeh on this one. visualise that cervix ripening and baby moving down, visualise breastfeeding that baby for the first time. and Laura is right: this baby will help you show the way. Marta did with me (showing me how beautiful birth can be) and 2IC will for you
how far are you post dates 'post dates'? i had decided to go for monitoring at the end of 42 weeks and go from there. if all good, go back home and go back to the unit for monitoring the next day or day after etc...

Oh Marcellus: Laura is a clever women, your baby will show you how its done. Also a S&S is nothing I PROMISE. I remember saying "oh your all done?" Didnt hurt and she got a lot of goop so it worked and bubs was born less than 2days later!

Its terrible that you have been taught to not believe and its so easy for us to say otherwise. But you know yourself you are a different person now, so your reactions to things will be different too!

We are all here for you and if there is anything we can do just let us know.

We can start a cervix ripening party?? or maybe all just mentally connect over raspberry icecream each night?? And yes i would be willing to do that for you

    Aw, thanks guys
at the raspberry icecream - that really means a lot to me
I have been thinking about holding the baby, and feeding and sleeping together. Will add in some ripe cervix thoughts too

Well, we're going with the later due date, so that gives us an extra 6 days right there. Plan now is at about 40+10-ish to do an S&S and go into hospital for testing. If all looking good then we can keep going to 43 weeks (with continued monitoring). So there's still heaps of time.

Marce. I understand totally what you mean about the TTC thing, the thoughts of, "these things just don't happen for ME". First it was getting a BFP, now it's sustaining a healthy pregnancy, so I can totally imagine the thoughts of "natural labour doesn't happen for me" as well. Just keep up with the visualizing, and the fact you have 6 extra days is excellent!

take your midwife or doula with you if you have to go to hossy for checks etc. just to nip in the bud any possible bullying...

Macellus - thinking of you. I know your last birth was a bit all over the place, but you labour so well considering the atmosphere... You will have an amazing homebirth....

    HELP!!!

I am getting anxious as I see my home water birth slipping through my fingers. I bought a pool and it has NOT arrived, the seller is NOT responding to emails and I desperately am trying to find another pool.

Please let me know if you have one for sale and can send it to Perth (or are in Perth) I am so angry and worried that bub will come when I am not prepared!

    I really want a pool!!!!

Wooo its quiet in here. I forgot to update my situation - I'm going to the birth centre down here, and my midwife classes that as a home birth because its not a registered birth centre as such, its just a house that they use for their births - so its a house birth technically... LOL..

Sooo.. I'm having another.. house..... birth? That's the closest I can get to my own home and at least I can go home again straight after the birth and climb into my own bed, so its much better than having to stay at the hospital for a few days...

So its close enough for me to be happy!!!!
