    No I am just 'assuming' that with homebirth being put on such a downer that a low risk case is going to be the picture of health and refusing such tests would knock you back to hospital - i may be wrong just 'assuming' .... birth being over medicalised and all...

    I am very overweight but i dont think that is going to change my birth risk - i was about the same when i had DS and his birth was smooth and problem free... im not against hospital but i dont think i needed to be there and i think i would be a great candidate for homebirth - hospital protocol may have different idea iykwim

    Yeah, I figured that as well, dragoncookie. My feelings at the moment in that regard are that they can do as many tests as they want on me, so long as it helps me get my homebirth. (Aside from an amniocentesis - I can't see any reason they might want to do it anyway but still...)

    If they say I can't get a homebirth because of my size, by god I'll try to lose some - healthily of course - and try again. I never thought this would be so important to me, but now I'm actually planning it, it really is...
