It has been awhile since I had mine in (didnt keep it long) I didnt need to have a period right then to get it just be careful for a week but had a urine pregnancy test first. Surely that would be enough. If not ill never have it again. Ewwww
I had one inserted few years ago and he just asked me if i had it, there was no inspection, that sounds a bit ridiculous. I guess they are just covering there ass incase of being sued, but its a bit over the top.
Ok, thank goodness I'm not the only one that finds that totally off!
Trill - that's exactly what I was thinking, okay so really it shouldn't be a big deal, but honestly if I had to see a male doctor there is no way i would be comfortable doing it. Totally weird.
I dunno, not sure it would bother me as such (had plenty of midwives and dr's check my pads post birth due to clotting) so thats not really an issue (but I do understand why it would). I got over that quickly. It just seems a strange request, surely they could do hormone checks or something? Its obviously for legal reasons.
B - the GP I saw yesterday told me that.
I was googling too, and I have just been overlooking the info I was given from the RACGP and it doesn't say anything! I am so confused.
If it was post birth it probably wouldn't bother me but this seems ridiculous. I know I am not pregnant, I would do a HPT if necessary, I just don't feel comfortable with this. And I hate pads.
