I keep seeing this banner here on BB and I absolutely LOVE the slogan "you're not alone when you go home". I normally hate advertising but I love that and wish they could advertise it everywhere. To me it sums up one of the key areas where the ABA helped me - being able to provide advice and support when I first left hossy with a bub who wasn't feeding properly and no real clue as to what to do. It would be great if everyone knew that support was available. Does anyone else love the slogan too??
I think it's FANTASTIC! It is so warm, friendly and inclusive and I think, much more effective than a slogan like "breast is best" because often that makes women who struggle with breastfeeding feel even more guilty.
Good on them. Would be interested to know how they came up with it - advertising consultant or an informal round-table discussion amongst themselves.
I think it's great too and I'd MUCH rather see an ad for the ABA than for a corporate company... Not that I'm criticising BB since I know needs must, but YKWIM.
It will be so much easier for them too advertise when they get the funding for their 1800 number too.
I just wanted to say a big "thankyou" to Kelly for hosting our banner. kelly is a wonderful supporter of breastfeeding and ABA, as we know, and we really appreciate it.
This is very important for ABA - membership is one of our main forms of income, and allows us to provide all the great services we provide. FionaS - advertising consultant LOL - Yup, me and a few of our priceless volunteers

Yep Renee, pretty much. Certainly near you hun. The best thing you can do before having a bub is join the ABA and attend one of their breast feeding classes. It would be great to attend a meeting or two before you have bub also to get to know them. I have never met a more supportive, accepting bunch of people in my life. When I first had Jack they were a life saver - not just because they helped me with bfing issues, but also by giving me advice in other areas, and general support, and an excuse to get out of the house and socialise when I was having a bad day and it all seemed too much. I am very lucky, a friend gave me membership as a gift, and it was the best baby present I got.
Thanks for answering my question! I will definitely attend a class before I have my baby then, sounds like a very valuable experience! I'll have to check out the website when I'm pregnant.
The bfing class while you are pg is definitely the best prenatal preparation you can have (to think otherwise you have half a dozen about the birth and often NOTHING about bfing!). Definitely recommend!
