So far I think what is helping the most is changing the way I hold her? Such a small thing.... But I am laying her head on my shoulder instead of the cradle hold we usually do. So she has to really make it clear she wants the boobie.... Not just turn her head to get it? I think it is also manic it clear to her when it is time to nurse and when it is time to sleep? I am also letting her press her face into mine.... It is that close contact with me without the nursing.

We do BLS as well, It is hard to tell how much she has eaten in a day! Lately she seems to be eating more and more though.... And she loves her cows milk so I know it is a comfort thing to want to nurse. I was told by the health nurse to night wean her when she was 8 months but I knew then she wasn't ready...

Meercat I just saw your thread, big hugs hun! I know you've had problems with Tiah overnight, but I think what you're doing is great otherwise you'll go insane! Tiah is a gorgeous little girl, she just loves her boobie and I'm sure it's a huge comfort thing for her. I know when Cam is clingy he wants mum ONLY and DF feels so helpless as when he tries to comfort him he just keeps on crying until I take over. I know it makes DF feel like c*** sometimes, but because I spend all day with Cam, he's used to my cuddles and settles very quickly. Just wanted to say you're doing a fabulous job hun and keep going as I'm sure Tiah will wean herself soon. I've been told offering water can help. A few months ago during my MCHN app. I asked the nurse how I could drop the night feed and also at that stage Can was so unsettled during the night I kept offering milk. She said that I should only offer water as otherwise Cam will always be looking for a feed during the night. GL hun!

Oh, what wouldn't I give to lose the night feeds. There was a point it was 7 or 8 a night, now he's down to about 3 or 4 but winter is coming, and I want my bed back. That and he tends to wander off in the middle of the night if we co sleep and falls off the bed (he has some nice bruises).

He never cries at night because he's either in bed with me or right next to the bed, so I get woken up by snuffles and arm waving, grab him, feed him, we both go to sleep. I've tried offering water and he'll drink it but its not boobies and only boobies are good enough.

Wondering if we should move his cot out to the lounge room or something, I have no idea if he can resettle by himself if there's not someone within arms length.
