Adrian is self weaning himself, he may go a couple of days before he wants a feed but the last couple of days I`ve noticed my milk is very thick and a creamy yellow colour, is this normal? I`m guessing my milk is changing due to the sudden drop in feeds?
Yes, completely normal! You have done a fabulous job breastfeeding - well done. And as feeds reduce, and your body senses it is coming to the end, your milk becomes more like colostrum - backed with one last great dose of antibodies and other good stuff to fight off infection
Barb, that made me all teary.... I think it's cause I'm tired and sick, but it just made me all emotional thinking that her body wants to give him a last gift of immunity before ceasing the breastfeeding relationship.
Oh, and Deeanne, what a great job you have done for Breastfeeding your boy for so long. Good on you!
