Just want to send you a big Sorry haven't any advice for your situation - the only thing I can think of is perhaps to wait a couple of weeks and try again? I hope things improve soon though.
Can you believe your DD is already 6 months old! Miss Molly is just about 5 months - gee time flies. As you know have had lots of feeding issues with Molly but paediatrician ended up advising us to start solids early and thank goodness she has taken to it so well and seems to be thriving now! I was sure she would be fussy with solids given how bad she is with breast feeding and bottle but so far so good
Thanks babymiracles We've chucked it in for now, planning on trying again sometime next week or the week after I think. She has got bronchiolitis now, so definitely not the time to be trying again, poor little girl is wheezing and barking I think it'll just take her a while to get the hang of swallowing and not gagging, she is even gagging and vomiting on mucus!
The 6 months sure has gone fast hasn't it - she can sit now! And not too far off crawling either I'm so glad Molly is doing well now, I know how worrying the whole weight gain thing can be. My DD1 was the same, fussy with the breast but loved her solids, although by about 8 months she was loving booby again LOL they just change all the time.
When you try again have you thought about offering her 'real' food, just until she gets used to having something that's not milk? The first thing DD tried was a strip of steamed zucchini and she quite happily sucked away on that and then we moved onto other foods, including mashed/pureed foods after that.
She may also be not quite ready just yet, just think of it as she loves her BM so much
And yep, I'm very keen to just offer her real food - after all it makes it so much easier for me! I was doing a bit of both, but I just have to work on DH a bit more, DD1 almost choked on a piece of rockmelon when she was 7 months old so he's worried about it happening again.
