We started solids just last weekend and so far we're not having a lot of luck
I started out giving her rice cereal and EBM and she hated it - screwed up her face and spat it back out and would not even open her mouth for the spoon. So I thought after 2 days of this OK that's cool, you don't like it we'll try something else.
So we moved onto avocado - she seemed to not mind it, opened the mouth a little and didn't spit it back out. She moved it around in her mouth for a bit and I assume tried to swallow it, then gagged and vomited. Anyway later that night she woke for a feed and had a temp and spewed again, so I assumed the vomit was related to being sick instead. But I thought I'd give up on the avocado for now just in case.
We tried again the last couple of days since she has been feeling better, some sweet potato and basically have had the same thing happen, she seems sort of keen, opens up a little and eats it but then gags and vomits it back up. I am in no way forcing her to eat and don't ever want to force her, also I know she is getting plenty of milk so I feel no urgency to get her eating solids.
Should I just give up and try again in a week or 2, or just keep perservering? I really don't like the idea that I'm making her vomit although I should add that she is a happy vomiter.
