Good thread I was wondering about making my own yogurt as DD is now on a restricted dairy diet but I still let her have a little A2 milk now and again so I'd like to make her some yogurt with it - I think she's been missing it as one of her fave foods.

Yeddi, Is goats milk counted as non-dairy? Maybe we should give it a try... rice milk got a big thumbs-down and I'm cautious about soy.

    Sorry to hijack!

No, it's still considered dairy, but it's the closest animal milk to human milk and is easier to digest. It also has more of the good nutrients and less of the "not so good for you" ones. It is a little tarter, but if you put pureed fruit with it the sweetness evens it out.

Another Jalna lover here too, sorry! It comes in small, med and large tubs too. Q Yoghurt Co., or Gippsland is fab too, but a bit high in sugar for DS. DS likes natural yoghurt, don't even have to add fruit (but DH and I do, lol!). It's SOO hard to get something that isn't 'artificially sweetened', full fat but low sugar. I was thinking of trying to make our own too... you may have inspired me!

We went with the B D Paris Creek brand - the fruit flavoured ones 'cause he didn't like the plain one. It's another pot set style of yoghurt and they do some non low fat yoghurts (ie full fat ones)

I think the Qld Yoghurt Co one has honey in it (that's why its so yum!) so no good for little bubs. I give my boys Farmer's Union greek yoghurt, Jalna when its on special - the 4.5 yo still likes it plain, doesn't like flavoured yoghurt at all.

Could you make it with oat milk? That's what we drink here, if not that I might give it a go with goat milk.

Hi Snowy love Good to see you hon I didn't know QYC it had honey in it? Goes to show how slack I've been looking at the ingredients! It's so yummy that I just keep buying it and dh is lucky to get any every week hehehhe.

I haven't started giving DS yogurt yet, what age did you girls start offering it to your bubs?

JLeigh if I do make some you can come and taste it to see what you think? Mind you if I'm happy with the Jalna greek style or the biodynamic ones I may not make it for a while.
