Not much going on here... It's been a week since brendans surgery and he's eating much better now, but he's still not eating enough.... hoping that he'll pick up soon. According to many books/websites he's eating about the same quantity as a 9 month old :( He's 19 months! It never ends... so many hurdles in his young life.

hi im new here and i have just turned 17, i took a preg test last sunday as i had missed my period and i had a feeling something was up, it came back possitive but my partner and i have yet to make a doctors appointment but one will be made next week some time, i reckon i would be around the 6 week mark and im scared out of my mind. so i thought the best way to destress myself is to inform myself and that is how i found this website.

hey princess and welcome darl! i know its scary but we are with u the whole way. Just take it one day at a time and rest up. Its a beautiful thing to be pregnant and expecting a bub. Good luck and i look forward to getting to know u better :) mwah xox

well i had my appointment.. My BP has gone back down to 130/75 which is great. Bubs hb was around 180 but that was just after the midwife felt around and moved her head. My lil girl doesnt like to be disturbed! lol! Everything else looked good. My specialist came and seen me and said that im fine to continue on with my normal appointment with my midwife but if things start to go abit hay wire again, he wants me bcak in there. Im fine with that :) Um, her head is nice and low which is exciting! just 6 more weeks... i cant wait!!! that reminds me i have to go buy a hospital bag!!

No i havent told my mum yet and live in queensland, only 3 people other than my partner and i know about it they are my partners best mate and his best mates parents, i just want to see the doctor first and fnd out how far along i definately am, and we alrady had a idea before the test and it was pre decided that there was no other option but to become young parents, im very scared and not sure how my mum will take it coz she is a little hypocritical. thanks for all the support everyone

Sometimes your parents surprise you... but i understand how tough it is thinking about it in the beginning.
If you're looking to source some comebacks to the parents then im sure we can help :lol:
Can I ask if your parents know that you are sexually active?
I find the best way to shove it in their face is that is they know you just tell them
"Pregnancy is a risk/possible outcome of having sex. We're aware of this and we made this decision consciously, and if you're not okay with me being pregnant then you shouldnt be okay with me having sex". Probably easier said than done, I know, but it is the most truthful and still respectable way to put it.

no my mum doesnt know that my partner and i were having sex and its sounds mean but if she has a hissy i can throw back in her face tha fact she was married and had a son by her 17th birthday, i just keep saying to my partner that im scared thats why i came looking for a forum to join so i kinda have a better idea of what is gonna happen, and people that understand my emotional state

Ohh i see. Well I don't think she really has a right to judge... no body ever does but that i even more of a reaosn she shouldn't.
My mum had me at 18 so i knew she couldnt criticise, i was moreso worried as she was pregnant too and what if something went wrong. Wow, so how old is your mum then (if you dont mind me asking?)

Princess, I dont think your mum will judge you, although she may be disappointed she will soon "get over it" and be happy that she's going to be a grandma!! I know how hard it is for you, I was 17 when I first got pregnant, long story short mum helped me through a rough stage in my life (just out of an abusive relationship when i found i was pg... ended in a termination), if it wasn't for her I'm not sure I'd even be here today.

I hope you find the support you need, it's a life changing thing having children.

AFM... Brendan wouldn't go to sleep in his cot, but has fallen asleep on the couch! Soooo cute :D I think I may have to put the "v" shaped pillow in his cot for his day sleeps... he seems to be getting distressed when placed flat... Anyway thats for another time...

DP's gone to Perth to pick up a friend, he's promised we will go to Perth on Thursday... we better this whole 2 weeks he's been on holidays and we've done nothing together! Except he came shopping on saturday... shopping bill was 3 times it's normal and we got less... GRRR!

Gosh i think if i took my sisters shopping I would get death stares for miles... three kids under one hey :p

hey i get bad enough stares when i take my niece and nephew to the shops and they are 7 and 3, im starting to calm down and come around now and realise its not as bad as i originally thought i just have to go see my doctor which will be sometime next week. and this is a bit of a silly question but i think i have ringworm, as the thing on my stomach is the same as a friend had a few weeks ago and she was diagnosed with ringworm. should i talk to the doctor about it or just go get some cream for it at the chemist?

I would go to the dr.... you can give the cream a go first... but you have to be careful what you take and use during pregnancy, somethings can harm the baby as well. I advise seeing the dr.

Hi all. Sorta been reading - well this page anyway, will go read more.
Just wanted to say Congrats & good luck Princess. I fell pg with DD1 at 17. I was only 3 months younger than when my mum fell pg with me, but she wasn't supportive at all.
DS (my 3rd) was the first congratulations I got when I made the announcement.
I'm now married to the father of all 3 of them & we're not doing too bad.
I hope your mum is ok. Mine absolutely loves being a nan, just didn't like the idea of me giving up my life. I think she might be over it now. 7 years later!

So true!! I've done more with my life in the 18months with Brendan than what I did in the few years I had been out of home!

As much as this sounds corny but... having Brendan and watch him struggle to live and pull through, made me realise just how precious life is. I don't take the time I have with him for granted. I've taken Brendan every where with me... from Melbourne on holiday for 4 weeks to driving trips around WA. DP and I do more now than what we used to... even though mostly cant afford too! :p

i'm rambling now...

I agree. I wouldn't change my kids for all the drunken Friday nights & high paying jobs in the world!
But I guess that was mum's view of me. Oh well.
Just goes to show why she's never helped me out unless its $20 or something. A mum would've been better.

Well Maddie turned one on sunday, so exciting, she is walking properly now, such a big girl.
We are moving down south on monday, it will be so great to finally be out of the city.

Wow, have i missed alot or have you guys just been chatting alot lately. lol

Congrats PrincessWalkee, i was 16 when i found out i was preg, my mum was upset at 1st and not supportive at all but 1 week later we were out shopping for baby stuff. lol. Give her time and just imagine what it would feel like for her, she prob had all these plans for you and a baby at 17 prob wasnt one of those, thats how i see it with alyssa, if she was 16-17 and told me she was preg i would prob flip at first cause shes my baby girl and i have all these wonderful plans for her life but i'd also understand and support her. I wouldnt trade having Alyssa so young for anything. Add me to msn if ya wanna chat :)

thanks girls, i know i think maddie is big being one but then before i know it she will also be four!
she had her one year old needles today and she went crazy, poor darling, she was so upset. but she is asleep now so all good.
well i had weigh in at weight watchers yesterday and i have lost 7.6 kilos, im very proud of myself, lol, so i just have to tell.

lol, i also need to get rid of 30 kilos. i was reading womans day in bed one nigth and came across the weight watchers slimmers of hte year and there was one girl that looked a bit like me and she had lost like 60 kilos and i was like omg i can do this, i have to do this so the next day i just did it, i have always said one day when im thin but i was never getting there coz i was eating crap and heaps of it. now i just got to the gym 3 times a week and eat well. ok so im rambling, better stop lol.
but yeah something will motivate you one day, when you are ready, i wasnt ready to stop eating and start excercising before. hope im not being rude in any way. good luck to you!

i dont have motivation... but i kno one day i will and succeed like i did with quiting smoking :) now that was a huge achieve ment for me but am worried i will stack on the pounds now im kicking the other (smoke'n) habbit!
i fell preg 2 a one nyt stand @ 16yrs... and it ended in a termination... i have huge appriciation to those who have & are doing it at a young age!
