After some trial and error I finally managed to get approx the right FSH dose for pill down reg cycles. I changed to a new FS who recommended trying antagonist to try to get a slightly less response but work on quality of embryos. However for my first antagonist cycle my FSH dose was too low and I had limited response.
So my question is for those of you who have done both protocols, did your FSH dose differ between down reg and antagonist, in what way and what was your response.
Mine were:
Down reg:
FSH 225 - cancelled day 9 hyperstimed
FSH 125 - EPU but no ET, hyperstimed, 20 eggs, all crappy
FSH 75 upped to 100 - 14 eggs
FSH 100 - 14 eggs
Antagonist (FS started me on FSH75 assuming that not being down regulated would mean I would respond quicker)
FSH 75 upped to 100 - 3 follies converted to IUI
FS is now recommended FSH 100
Hi BDT
Im sorry I cant be of help to you as Ive never done an antagonist but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with finding the right FSH dose for you.
Just posting my results in case anyone is interested in the future. I have just done an antagonist cycle with FSH100, which was my perfect dose on down reg, and also seems to be perfect for antagonist, I ended up with 23 eggs, 17 mature, 14 fertilised. So seems there is little difference in response between the two protocols if on the same dose.
I am about to start my first IVF cycle, long down regulated, with FSH150, so am interested to see your response to that. I know everyone is different but I have no idea how many eggs to expect.
