I just finished Freckle's baby blanket - didn't fringe it like the pattern wanted but did 2rows of double crochet on the ends (it already had 2 rows of dc on the sides). In the machine for a gentle wash and then I might try to block it tomorrow and upload a pic and link it here for you all to see.
Back on to working on the Spotlight krista block of the week crocheted throw rug - it's up to block 7 and I've only done block 1. (uses the same size hook as the baby blanket and I only had one in 6.5 mm)

I decided to start a throw rug type thing last night. It'll probably something that I work on between projects. It uses bobble stitch or something. I've started with pink, and decided i'll use a few shades of pink on it and maybe a few shades of purple too... but I haven't really thought it all that much yet. Lol. I was going to give myself a few days break from crocheting since I'd been making some things for some people recently but I couldn't help myself but start something else. Maybe cause it hasn't got a time frame, like the other things, is why I started it straight away , if you get what I mean.

Jewel, "couldn't help myself but start something else" I completely understand! While I am not crocheting at the moment, I do have 2 knit projects and a whole heap of sewing projects on the go at the moment. Lots of starting something, hopefully over easter I will have some time for completing...

i have not really done much of anything since Jan, ive been incapacitated by MS but now on meds that work and im starting to get itchy fingers again. ive started a baby beanie for the little pickle, i almost finished it and decided i didnt like the way it was going to look, too girly and i may die of shock if its actually a girl! ive got a zillion sewing projects wanting attention too...
That's why I love crocheting - it grows quickly when using some of the taller stitches - trebles, half trebles & double trebles mainly with doubles for the white

So a week ago it was a friends baby shower. 3 days before someone else reminded me how she'd seen owl beanie's at the baby expo a couple of months earlier, but didn't buy one cause they were all very 'boy' or 'girl' and she doesn't know what she's having. So I decided to go crazy and have a crack at making one, despite never making one before. Gotta say, I'm pretty damn happy with how it turned out, especially given I hadn't ever tried this before and I started 2 days before her baby shower. Owl beanie 1.jpg
Having to do a double post to show off the next one. When my niece saw a photo of the beanie she got all excited and asked Nanny to buy her one. Nanny told her Aunty Dee made it so she just had to call me and ask me to make her a pink and purple one. Pretty sure this makes me the best Aunty ever Owl Beanie 2.jpg
So happy with them both. I also want to have a go at other animals now so I think I'll have to find a pattern book somewhere and actually teach myself to read a pattern (which currently I can't )

I finished crocheting a cowl but I haven't gotten around to looking for some buttons for it so it's not completely done just yet. Other than that I've been quite lazyyyyyyyyyyy.
I've made my first beanie! Actually, I've made 3 this week Found an awesome all rounder pattern on Ravelry, gives the basic pattern and you just keep increasing til it's a certain size for prem, baby, toddler, teen, woman or man. So far I've made a preemie, baby and woman, all in different colours. I wanna try another kind of hat soon - there's so many awesome patterns on Ravelry!

I have almost finished knitting that bloomin jumper I've been working on forever. Just waiting on MIL aid on the stupid collar. In the mean time I've moved onto trying out a bootie pattern for the pickle. It's looking ok.........

Joined! Now suffering from an inferiority complex though - I've done 2 projects, both the same thing, and you've done approximately a bazillion. And it says you've been knitting for 3 years, and yet you're making clothes. I have been knitting for 10 years and can only successfully make scarves. And one time, I made a shawl.
Oh, don't be too concerned, it is all front! I have been knitting officially for 3 years, I *knew* how to knit for about 10 years prior to that but that is if you call misshapen items, knitting with unintentioned holes, beginning and never finishing hundreds of scarfs and accidental picking up and dropping of stitches 'knitting'! I was more of a crocheter and was reasonable with that. Then I went through post natal depression last year and the thing which kept me sane was knitting. That and Ravelry created the perfect set up for my knitting to take off.
Mind you, making clothes… you will notice that all my pieces are small, quick knit (quick gratification ) no big impressive committed items in my list, just enough to make my knitting prowess look good at a glance AND I have never successfully knit a scarf!
Plus, don't you have some Afgan glory you should post about?? I'd love to see some pics and details of that work.
