Well I can say with much conviction that I don't know that the urge ever goes. I have 5 beautiful kids - and if I could I would have more!

MY DH would not have more - and I am 41 now - and with being so sick with Immy I just wouldn't put my body or my family thru another pregnancy.

However, had I started earlier - I would definitley have had more. I love a big family - It's so special, busy and it is the BEST thing!

For now I will raise my babies and then watch them grow and the family extend. I feel blessed...

this may sound silly but I was wondering if it's a big difference going from 3to 4 I just want to make sure I'm ready as there's a difference between by accident and on purpose and I don't want to intentionaly get myself in crap either way I want it I guess I just worry it will be too hard even though I know it's worth it

    Advice help anything plz

For me going from 3 to 4 was not a big difference, it was the 1 to 2 that took adjusting.

Hi ladies, thought I'd put my 2c worth in lol. I have just had my 5th and last night was discussing with DF the possibility of having another one. I thought he would be dead set against it but he looked at me and said let's go for it. The only concern he has is our age. I'm 40 and he is nearly 49. He wants to be here to watch them grow up and become a granddad : ) I don't think he has anything to worry about but that is his nature.

So #6 here we come - wish us luck

This will really be our last one though lol

Goodluck to everyone planning another little bubba. I am also wondering what it is like going from 3 to 4? I always said i'd have 3 babies and when pregnant with ella I thought she was the last for sure. Now I feel different they are just so wonderful and I feel sad to think of not having anymore. So now i'm thinking maybe when ella is 4 or 5 years old I might go back one more time. I think i'd regret it if I didn't. But number 4 seems alot harder to prepare for. We would have to sell our house and buy bigger, and I have a mazda 3 so that ain't going to work with a large family haha! How did you all go planning for number four?? thanks to anyone that can help.

The think I found hard was having to have the boys share a room and renting a 4brm house instead of a 3 and also having to buy a 7 seater car, other then that it was easy. I think I stressed to much on the little things when really I didn't need to it all work out just fine.

Good luck if you do decide to go for number 4.

    hugs xoxo

Well,I already had two, then I moved in with DH as a housemate and things developed from there and given we were both single and alone for some time before hand, #3 didn't take long at all with us both being extremely fertile. Sometimes it makes me think that I wasn't supposed to do *anything* else because I have a perfect parity/gravidity and have bad reactions to the pill. #4 happened too easily after #3 and we then had two boys and two girls and that should have been perfect right. Just got to be *extremely* careful (which unfortunately means majority abstinence) and time it all right and whoops - 4am is before my coffee and I can't work out dates at that time of morning!

We did want #6 however - we were just planning to do the BD for #6 after January.

That said, what was stopping us before was how much we love our Jackaroo. Sadly now I have to trade it in on a van, so we are going for the commuter bus. Nothing stopping me from beating my mum (7) and catching up with my sister (Expecting her 8th but will only have 7 as her beautiful DD3 was taken by SIDS) now!

Except maybe my sanity.... oh, and I am running out of places to put beds in the bedrooms!

    Smile Babies and more....

I wanted 4 originally but then when I had 4 I thought, I only have one boy and it would be nice for DS to have a brother - so decided on one more as we had just bought a KIA carnival and 5 kids would fit in the back - got Twin girls! So then we had to up the car to a Volkswagon caravelle and there were spare seats so I thought 'just one more' - why not - fits in the car - got another beautiful little girl who has been just adorable. That made 7!
    BUT
I never liked odd numbers and thought 8 would be a nice round even number - so now I'm having number 8 in August and it is a boy, which is nice.
    BUT
I was looking at the Chinese Lunar calendar the other day and daydreaming about more -so who knows. Hubby just accepts what comes along, he thinks I am a bit looney though I suspect, but I just love being a mum and love having a big family and they are all such great kids that it is really hard for me to say "no more - ever". I think maybe if this one is a caesar like the last one I'll stop because I dont do caesars well.

I'm 36 this year though so I cant go on forever.....

Mumeee... I have 6 children that keep me on my toes but DF wants another!! We can't have bubbas naturally because i had my tubes tied after number 5 so we did Ivf last time. Df want me to have 2 of our frozen embryoes transfered this time around again which would make it 8 if they both make it! Im so weird and scared and I don't know anyone that has 8 kids. People already look at me as if i have 10 heads with the 6 i have hehehe. People just don't understand how our family works and that it works really well. But this will be it we have to draw the line somewhere i think.

Mumof six - Once you get past 5, you dont hear anything you would not have already heard - ie it doesnt get any worse, if thats any relief. You only get the classics like "OMG are they all yours" or "You've got your hands full" or "Havent you got a TV" - we've all heard those I am sure. If you get twins then you get a whole new round of questions and comments which get really old really fast.
Honestly - some of the time it gets me down, some of the time I get angry and rather sarcastic, and other times I just dont care what anyone else thinks of says.
I do use humour a lot. And other times when people say 'are they all yours' I say 'no I do family daycare' or 'what are you crazy', just to avoid the ongoing conversation.

    I think 8 is a nice number.
