That stupid TV comment. ARGH! I've heard it since I was a kid - when people would say it to mum and dad. I learnt early from my mum that sarcasm is actually the finest form of wit. LOL

"Oh yes, TVs are fine..... if your marriage is boring"

Even Phil gets in on the act with the snarkastic replies to his male friends. "You're just jealous of how much sex I get".

I love my little brood - and anyone who doesnt agree is more than welcome to have an opinion .. Just don't expect me to be polite about it when you decide its that important that apparently I must hear it.

With the 'dont you have a tv?' comment...i simply reply 'if you would prefer to watch tele, then your doing it all wrong'....that soon shuts em up !!!!!

I never gave a thought of how many kids I'd have. After 3 kids from the first marriage I thought if I find love again I'd have one or maybe 2 with him....which I did, one year after the other which was unintentional. After that we though no more, so he went and got the snip in Sept. 6 mths down the track...Id TWINs was conceived!!! Freaky or what!

We are definitely stopping after the twins, just can't fit anymore in the house and the car and yes, I'm sick of the sarcasm and the horrible jokes because it is so insensitive...definitely doing DH head in because the 2 little ones are so close and the 15 year old DD going through her teenage attitude readjustment...

Chin up Hobbes - having 7 kids is awesome and yeh I know the negative comments can be nasty but think of all the positives. We get more hugs per day than other people, more love, more fun and yeh its hard work sometimes but we would never swap it. My oldest boy is CP so has needs of a preschooler and when my baby was born I had 6 kids 8yo and under so life can be challenging but I love it! I am sure you will too. Big hugs to you.

The TV joke ..... my DH says, "Nah don't watch it - too much sex on!"

    Hey Halltribe
Thanx for the vote of confidence...you are right you know, there are lot's of positives in having so many kids, the joy in seeing them getting along is the best, just cracks me up when the 3 older ones plays well with the little ones...listening to their laughters.

I see you have more of a handful, must be hard sometimes It guess that's what we mothers need sometimes a big hug to say we are doing ok and doing a hell of a good job!

For us, we are both currently content with the 4 we have although I still detect traces of desire with my wife...not allot but occasionally. From time to time we discuss it, but it ultimately comes down to the fact that neither of us (her especially) are ready to permanently say one way or the other.

Right now neither of us wants anymore, but neither of us are ready to do something drastic that takes the issue away from even discussion. Therefore we know now is not the time to do anything drastic. Right now if we got PG it would not be all balloons in the house, but we both know it wouldn't be the end of the world either and we both would love the little one to pieces. So in our case we are doing nothing right now to prevent (except "Pull and Pray" ) and are waiting for her cycle to return at which time we will use NFP until we are able to actually say we are done - or Mother Nature tells DW we are done (Our current method of BC is not related to our desire to be done or not done).

Lol nothing like keeping a thread alive!! LOL, this thread started in November, but it's such a valid topic. I will tell anyone who wants to listen that "I'm done!!!" and that it's DH who wants another 2 yet!!! but quietly (on a public forum ) I don't know, I sometimes think I'd love to be pregnant again and have a newborn again and add to our tribe.
But Nathan is now 3 and off to Kindy next year with the other 4 in school, I will finally get some me time back and I can't hardly wait. But how will I be in an empty house??? Is that really a good reason to have another baby? When it comes down to it, DH has always wanted a big family, 7 infact, I only wanted 2, I think I have gone above and beyond to give him his big family, including putting my career aside to raise all of them, which to be truthful has been wonderful and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I don't have any babies in the house anymore and I love it!!! So I guess 5 is final for me. DH puts off getting the snip coz he thinks he can change my mind, Not gonna happen!!! I have the Marena in and it has been awesome, I have to get a new one put in soon, or him get the snip, so we'll see what happens!!!

Hi there Coolahbadee - you are on the gold Coast with 5 kids! We were living there for a while and there is hardly anyone there with more than 4 kids. People think you are so nuts! We were a real freak show on the coast, now living in a smaller town its not so bad.

Anyway we have decided to try for number 8!!!! my baby in well over 1 now so he would be about 2 if I get pregnant soon, a good gap for me. We would love to have another girl but God is is control of that! So stay posted and maybe I will have some good news to share sometime soon.

I am 1 of 5 and when I met dh I always wanted 4 or 6 lol.. I didn't want an odd number I always told everyone if I had 1 I would make it 2 and if I had 3 I'd have 4 and so on. I got to 5 and felt like a break but got over the break and here I am now LOL I don't think dh ever really thought about having kids till we had them and he was happy to come for the ride. When I had my scan the last week he asked what the guy sure there was only one.. He is worst then me LOL...

I love all the stupid comments. I love the don't you know how it happens?? I always reply and say I think I finally got it. Dh and I have been keeping our toothbrushes apart LOL

Ive just given birth to No.4 5 days ago and DP and I have decided on no more....we now have 2 boys and 2 girls.....we had intended to stop at the 2 but mother nature took care of that with DD2 then again with DS2!! I wasnt on any contraception as I dont react well to it, and I was very careful with ovulation dates and the like, but I guess my last 2 were meant to be.....thats how I like to think of it in any case

It does make me sad to think that I wont be having any more, but I have to be practical about these things and just say we cant afford any more kids, and I am getting older now so its not going to be on the cards anymore ........but I love my brood to bits and wouldnt change it for anything!
