I like the photo book idea but instead of giving it to her now why not wait until she is back and do a coffee table type book of her travels.
Or put money towards the book or buy frames so she can put her favourites in.

I know when DD2 returned home she had so many pictures but couldn't afford to print them all out. We have some hanging up, some in an album and one day we will do the coffee.
