I find the idea of brazilians totally pre-pubescent and feel that if that is what men are attracted to it is sick, sick, sick. HOWEVER, I understand it from a cleanliness aspect, because mine annoys the crap out of me and I would laser it off in a second if I could afford it. Still gets me thinking of 10 year old girls and i just don't think it's ... right. My opinion only.

I tidy when I can be bothered. Lazy, but my DF loves me for me, not for how hairy or hairless my pubic region is. Okay so maybe things are a little more, interesting , in the bedroom on the odd occassion it all comes off or is tidied 'well' but we aren't dependantm on that.

I feel the same, which is a problem here as DH prefers hair free. I have explained to him my concerns and he says it is more to do with his past, most of his ex (if you can call them that) were hair free, he is used to it. So we kind of compromise, if we can be bothered, he will do a clean up for me, just leaving a "landing strip" So overall I prefer semi-tidy.

At the moment I can't see it so it doesn't exist

Normally though I keep it tidy myself with a trim and make sure no stragglers hang out the sides of my bathers. I have done the wax it all off except for the landing strip but I kept getting thrush - obviously the hair down there is there for a reason and I actually find that the self-cleaning mechanism works better with some hair there IYKWIM. So after that I decided it was better to keep it neat myself than to keep Canestan in business

I prefer a-la-natural. I have done the brazilian thing for a while, which DH loves but its part the whole sexual attraction thing, it keeps the pheremones there and it's definately a more musky/animal/raw scent during DTD kwim? Not a dirty/unclean scent, but completely natural and a real turn on, same with DH's hair.

As for cleanliness, I shower everyday, sometimes twice during a heavy AF so I don't see how that's an issue for me.

well seeing BHL is only home for a week and away for two I only shave the day he is due home, I do the " landing strip" as thats what I like I could ever go " all off " but each to there own... BHL will sometimes take all his off, but I not a huge fan as it gets a bit *****ly....lol But he thinks it makes things look bigger even thought I tell him its big enough it doesnt need to look bigger.... men always want things bigger, our boobs and their dudes....

I don't get the brazillian thing either, thought I was the only one, creeps me out that guys would like it.

I just keep mine tidy myself with a little trim so it's neat. Sometimes shave bikini line but would rather get that waxed because the itchiness drives me insane. But I never am actually bothered to get a wax anyway, lol, more likely if I had to wear swimmers but I haven't for ages.

I was wondering about the itchiness thing too, how on earth can you shave it all off and deal with that itchiness, I would die!! Not to mention I'm too scared of cutting myself and have no idea how you get everywhere.

Interesting. I thought I was the only one who thought that Brazillians were a little.. well... odd. I actually have had one and liked the feel of it, but it still seems a bit weird.

Just for my own curiousity here- with shaving, isn't it itchy?

When I can be bothered, I use cream and take most of it, leaving a landing strip which I trim. I remember being about 35 weeks pregnant with ds and dh asking me wasn't I going to have a wax before the birth, so the midwife wouldn't think I was 'feral'? I swear nearly decked him. Idiot.

I find if you use a crap razor, and don't exfoliate properly, then yes, it does get itchy and prone to awful ingrown hairs. But using a good-quality razor (eg a Gilette Venus or something with multiple blades vs those Bic disposable one-bladers) and lathering with shower gel/body wash instead of shaving cream (a lot of shaving creams dry my skin out anyway, I don't know about anybody else) goes a long, long way towards keeping things comfy... and for the first week or so when it's growing back through the skin, I give everything a good hard scrub with my loofah to help the hairs break through the skin so they don't get ingrown...

Lol sorry if that's tmi!! But no, I don't usually have a problem with itching and ingrowns - it only gets itchy if I leave it too long and it gets a bit feral down there lol

I voted for the -* Don't give it much thought - if I can be bothered, it's tidy.
Im so busy with 5 kids and house work, that area is kinda the last place that gets a tidy up, iykwim, lol. It is always the first place to get a clean when in the shower, everynow and then it might get a wax or a shave, but nothing fancy.
I dont think hubby really cares either.

I usually keep the edges tidy - iykwim - with a shaver and yes it is itchy sometimes depending on what razor I use. I haven't got anyone other thanme seeing it anyway so I don't think it matters too much - but there are the days in the shower I go - wow better tidy up incase I am in a car accident or something! Clean undies are fine, but don't want them to be scared by what they may find beneath haha!

I have found in the past that if I trim too much, I get incredibly itchy and thrushish too - and as for brazilian,I could NEVER imagine letting any stranger get that close to my bits!

I find the idea of brazilians totally pre-pubescent and feel that if that is what men are attracted to it is sick, sick, sick.
I agree to an extent babe but then since when do we worry about what other people think about a region that has clothing on it 99% of the time and is unseen to the public????

I have had issues with this my whole life...I once shaved (owies as I cut a certain left curtain from front to back for my ex who thought I has an idiot and wouldnt even look at me until it grew back (I kid you not). It was then that I realised that it was so much cleaner for me to have the hair removed.

I also watched a birthing video when I was pg with Nikolaus, were I swear to god that the woman had hair that long in that region when had bob marley dread locks!

Im not a fan of someone else putting hot wax on my vaj vaj and moving my curtains around to see the inner me ....I use hair removal cream (avon brand) that stays on for 10 mins and then washes of...no itchness from shaving and I have super sensitive skin which is uneffected...no being scared of accidents ..... no one playing peekaboo.

Each to their own...and I respect those who dont...I just cant imagine AF time with Forest de Maz and all the muck....BLAH!!!!!

Maz- does that cream work well?
I've tried some brands before but I found they wouldn't get the hair off very well and it wasn't just a case of wash it off, it was scrape really hard or the hair would just stay there, lol.
Maybe I need to try avon.

I"ve been hair free down their since I was 17!

I've always shaved it, even when I had a huge preggy belly!

I can't see myself with hair down there anymore!

I said when I can be bothered.
I have never had a professional wax done, like someone else said - it isn't the pain I'm worried about, just someone getting that "close" to me! I'd be mortified. It is one thing to have someone look at me while giving birth (I soooo didn't care at that point) but at any other time, my privates are for me and DH only.
Usually I trim and shave the edges - used to wax the edges but I can't be bothered these days and I never go swimming either so it is really just so that I look ok in my undies before whipping them off, LOL.

I prefer no hair down there at all. I get waxed and it all goes(no landing strip for me ).I've been hairfree for about 10 years now too. I asked my beautician a couple of months ago how common it is to be "bald" and she said they do on average 15 brazillian waxes per day. So thats pretty common in my book lol.

I don't think of myself looking like a little girl either especially with boobs, hips and of course my c/s scar

I'm so relieved...I was really starting to think I was the only one out there who didn't do Brazilians!

I used to get regular bikini waxes done - just the edges tidied up. Once I did a proper Brazilian and although I wasn't really embarrassed I thought it was just so ridiculous and undignified to go through all that for what I really believe is just a fashion trend at the moment. And the regrowth is just so UGLY.

I've asked DH what he prefers and he says he wants a woman, not a girl...so that makes me happy as that is my preference. Far less maintenance.

These days it is too hard to get out of the house on a regular basis for waxing appointments so I generally trim the hair fairly short with my shaver (I epilate my underarms and it has shaver/trimmer attachment) and just epilate the edges. Having said that though...I'm a bit overdue for that at the moment.

I have heard about a great razor called a Seiko clean cut which shaves so close it's like a wax but I still haven't investigated it.

I personally would find it a bit wrong if DH took all his hair off. And I loooove hairy men...like Tom Selleck...drool. I grew up in the 70s so I think a lot of it is conditioning... and I therefore believe "real men" look like the Australian Fast Bowler lol and I would love it if DH had more chest hair. I hate it when men wax their chests and whatnot...although I can't say I'm into back and shoulder hair, I want a MAN, not a boy.

DH would love it if I got a Brazillian done, but I havent, its just not me. I normally keep it tidy myself with scissors and a good razor.

I think I've had 2 bikini waxes ever - the first was when I was 37 weeks pg with DS (which reminds me i will need to book in soon) becuase I dont want to be shaved by someone else under any circumstances, so in the event of needing a c/s i want that prep work to be done already.

I havent shaved or waxed my legs since I was about 16, becuase I look like aplucked chicken for days afterward. I hav used depli. creams before but they always hurt or I got skin reactions.

Might give the Avon one a go though after reading this thread.
