Interesting. I thought I was the only one who thought that Brazillians were a little.. well... odd. I actually have had one and liked the feel of it, but it still seems a bit weird.

Just for my own curiousity here- with shaving, isn't it itchy?

When I can be bothered, I use cream and take most of it, leaving a landing strip which I trim. I remember being about 35 weeks pregnant with ds and dh asking me wasn't I going to have a wax before the birth, so the midwife wouldn't think I was 'feral'? I swear nearly decked him. Idiot.

I find if you use a crap razor, and don't exfoliate properly, then yes, it does get itchy and prone to awful ingrown hairs. But using a good-quality razor (eg a Gilette Venus or something with multiple blades vs those Bic disposable one-bladers) and lathering with shower gel/body wash instead of shaving cream (a lot of shaving creams dry my skin out anyway, I don't know about anybody else) goes a long, long way towards keeping things comfy... and for the first week or so when it's growing back through the skin, I give everything a good hard scrub with my loofah to help the hairs break through the skin so they don't get ingrown...

Lol sorry if that's tmi!! But no, I don't usually have a problem with itching and ingrowns - it only gets itchy if I leave it too long and it gets a bit feral down there lol

I voted for the -* Don't give it much thought - if I can be bothered, it's tidy.
Im so busy with 5 kids and house work, that area is kinda the last place that gets a tidy up, iykwim, lol. It is always the first place to get a clean when in the shower, everynow and then it might get a wax or a shave, but nothing fancy.
I dont think hubby really cares either.

OMG I'm thanking my lucky stars that I'm the only woman my DH has ever "known" because I've never really had to bother about it! I would be *mortified* to discover by process of getting intimate with a new man that men have an expectation of hairlessness?

I have suffered horrible skin irritation every time I shave/trim/use creams - so I therefore mostly don't bother. Would love to get the whole area tidied permanently via laser removal but first I would have to get past a) fear of someone seeing my inner thighs and b) horrible embarrassment over how fat I am and c) embarrassment over someone seeing how much or how little of your bits they need to see to get the job done. So until that day comes, it's ala naturel for this yeti woman.

Lol my DH watches that much porn that it wouldn't matter whether I was the first or the fiftieth, I think he'd expect it anyway because every other va-jay-jay he's seen has been hairless!!
Although, having seen a few of thos videos myself, those girls really need to learn what 'exfoliate' means - some have the nastiest shaving rash, it's so uncomfortable to look at!!

Edit: I wonder if the trend towards hairlessness is geared more toward a certain age group?? My mother is still entirely horrified that I get rid of it all, I remember her asking me after watching me give birth if the doctors still insisted on giving things a tidy-up, and I told her I'd done it myself the day before I was admitted to hospital... she was like, 'AND YOU DO THIS OFTEN?!'
And, from talking to friends, I get the idea that most of the under-30 (and a fair few over) crowd keeps things pretty tidy, to certain degrees (eg some of my friends have landing strips, others take every little thing off, and some go to the length of taking off any that's hiding in their bum-crack etc)...

If I can be bother I will tidy up. Either trim with scissors, shave or wax depending on how much I can be bothered. When I wax I get XX, so a landing strip.

I usually keep the edges tidy - iykwim - with a shaver and yes it is itchy sometimes depending on what razor I use. I haven't got anyone other thanme seeing it anyway so I don't think it matters too much - but there are the days in the shower I go - wow better tidy up incase I am in a car accident or something! Clean undies are fine, but don't want them to be scared by what they may find beneath haha!

I have found in the past that if I trim too much, I get incredibly itchy and thrushish too - and as for brazilian,I could NEVER imagine letting any stranger get that close to my bits!

I voted "brazillian" because thats what I ask for when I book my wax BUT I also ask them to leave a landing strip as I too find it a bit sick thinking of DH being "turned on" looking at my body with NO womanly pubic hair if that makes sense. I have had it all off a couple of times, one being while I was PG with Tobias & forgot to ask the lady to leave a landing strip until it was too late LOL stupid baby brain, but I didnt like the thought of having NO hair down there, I do feel like having no hair at all makes you resemble a child to a certain extent (no offence intended to those who choose that) which is the part I find to be "sick".

    Each to their own though.....
