Weekends I tend to stay up a bit later, rarely as late as midnight unless I am out though, and I usually sleep until 8 or sometimes 9am. The kids get themselves up, get their own breakfast and amuse themselves during this time. They also know not to disturb me as I am something of a bear with a sore head in the morning I need a lot of sleep and really struggled when the kids were not allowing me the 8 hours a night I need.
I'm in awe at your brilliance in child training!!

Im in bed at 9:30 most nights unless we are out or have people over and we don't have kids!! I am up whenever kids get up, which at the moment is around 7, but usually if I am not working that day I will let them play with my phone for a bit while I doze for another 30 mins! I love that they are a bit older now and will get up and play nicely together - the other day I got up and they were sitting at the coffee table playing Uno Gorg!!!

If I am working and doing creche drop offs etc. I am up around 6:30. DH is up at 6 and falls asleep on the couch every night somewhere between 9-6am! (Whole other thread )
DH and take it in turns to sleep in on weekends, so Saturday is my day and Sunday his and I take kids to church! Works well for us and is fair!

I've only just finished working out my natural sleep cycle, ie how many hours I need. Now I need to regulate my sleep pattern to enable the cycle to fit in with my life.

I try to be in bed before midnight, actually tonight it is 10pm and I'm already in bed & about to turn the laptop off.

My alarm goes off at 6am but the snooze button is my friend/enemy at the moment. I need to start getting up and do yoga, go to the gym or go for a jog in the mornings.

When OH and I end up living together when he gets back, we'll deal with the whole sleep thing then. Neither of us are used to having an extra body in the bed, both of us sleep on the same side of the bed & he won't be working when we're home together but I will, but that will probably change next year when I'm hopefully back studying full-time.

School holidays at the moment, so I go to bed between 10 & 12.

We're up between 6 & 8 most mornings. School days the latest is 7-7.30am.

Weekdays & weekends are the same - i usually go to bed between 10 & 11 & then im up whenever ds gets up which is anywhere between 5-6ish at the moment. It used to be around 630 but since dd arrived (the same time as daylight savings ended) it's been earlier. As dd is bf and ds is going through a mummy-only phase, there's no ooportunity for sleep ins! Dp usually goes to bed a bit later and gets up a little later.

before the bubs, weekdays I try to go to bed around 11, to get up at 7... but its usually midnight, and DH has been trying to get to work earlier so he comes home earlier, so 6am wakeup. Then I either get up at the same time, or stay alseep til about 8 for work.
Weekends: bed when I feel like it and get up when I feel like it... usually 2am to 10am (unless there is something on)

Since bubs, Bedtime is still around midnight, I keep telling myself I will just wait til she wakes then feed her and sleep... but the first few days she wouldn't go back to sleep after the 12am wakeup... so that was killing me.
Hopefully tonight she will go back to sleep after the midnight feed

Before kids I would average 13-15hrs per night. Now i tend to go to bed around 10pm, earlier if i feel like it, later if time has gotten away from me. When DS wakes it is normally when DH is getting ready for work, 6-6:30 and DH puts him in bed with me and we snuggle and doze until after 7 sometimes as latest 9 depending on DS stomach. Weekends DH works at the local gym so DS goes to creche there til 10am so I sleep in, get up have a long shower before they get home. Sunday we all normally get up between 7and 9am. I will go to bed about the same time on weekends, DH will stay up til 1 or 2am. DH is one of those freaks that run on no sleep...or heaps less than me anyway!!

when do you go to bed and get up?

I'm usually in bed by about 9 and asleep before 9.30. I guess I'm the other end of the spectrum in needing 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Im 19 weeks pg today- only needed 8 hrs pre pg. The alarm goes off at 6 but I'm awake and feeling refreshed sometimes between 5-6 am. It nice not to wake to the alarm! Weekends I usually wake at the same time but squeeze a nap in at least once on the weekend. Weekends- it depends if we are out or of I decide to push through my tired signs.
DP can survive on less Sleep than me for a week or so then he'll crash in bed early to recover.

Coming to the end of the pregnancy I'm waking so often that I am about ready to pass out by 8pm knowing that I'll be up every hour or so. Usually awake by 5:30-6am because that's when bubs is kicking. Kind of enjoy this quite time before DS wakes because it gets crazy once he is up.

Pre kids I was up for the gym most mornings around. 5:30am and our sleep in was usually Sunday as I would always do an 8:30am spin class on a Saturday. miss that gym time so much!! I'm also a morning person so early morning wake ups have never been a problem. However as soon as I start to get tired I have to sleep otherwise I turn very very cranky!!

Professor has an alarm that sends us to bed around 9pm, but we usually lay there and chat for about an hour. Then his morning alarm goes off at 5.30am, and I hafta get up because of the pain in my back. It takes about an hour for the pain to go away, and then I can go back to bed, but I generally don't.

DD2 doesn't go to sleep until about 9pm which means my bedtime after I've faffed around is usually close to midnight.

They usually wake me around 7am and dd2 usually wakes around 3am.

DP works shifts so often isn't in bed till 2am or later. If its a kindy day the deal is he gets up to help and has a nap later. I used to do the whole morning thing as well as the dinner/bath/bed thing on my own as well as letting him have an afternoon nap but something had to give.

He also works weekends so no taking it in turns for lie ins unfortunately.

Far too late and far too early

I usually go to bed around 10pm when DH is home, but when he's on nightshift it could be as late as 1-2 am especially if I have a lot of Uni assignments to do. I always get up at 6.40am on school days and on saturdays during footy season it is anywhere from 4.30am to 7am depending on where we are playing that week. Last saturday we were playing at Cobar, which is a 4hr trip one way so I was up at 4.30am, but this week we are playing in town so it's only a 7am start. On a normal weekend it could be as late as 10am if I'm really lucky but usually 7.30-8am.

Before DD I conformed to my husbands night owl hours - 2-3am bed and getting up at 9:30 on a weekday (he has work at 10) and after 12pm on a Sunday. Even though I felt best going to bed at 11pm and waking up at 8am.

Since DD I sleep whenever she does (I am breastfeeding on demand and co-sleeping, hubby is in his own room since he still does his night owl hours). She still doesn't have a routine, but atm bedtime is at 9:30pm and we get up between 7-8:30am.

Ideally I'd love to go to bed at 10:30pm and wake up at 7:45-8am (and that means sleeping the whole time rather than the 6-12 night wakings DD still gives me )

    Bed:
    Sleep: before 10:30pm
    Awake: between 5 & 5:15am

Then I exercise, either a 5km walk/jog plus exercises or a 45min dvd, so am home/finished between 6 & 6:30am. Breakfast, get ready for work, play on the computer, out the door to work at 8am. Lunches organised the night before, as well as bag packed & clothes sorted.

When I was living with my x and his kids, he & I were up at 5am, shower together, I'd do the bottles for the 1 year old & lunch/snacks for the 4 year old, our lunches, while he'd make breakfast & coffee. We'd both be out the door by 6am. With stop-offs on the way to work I'd be at work by 8am. His mum would look after the kids. He'd be home by 3:30pm & I'd get home by 6pm at the latest (usually by 5:30pm).

He and I would spend 10 mins together before the kids would claim my time. We'd have dinner at 6:30pm as a family. I'd then do the bath & bed routine for the eldest and bed by 7:15. If the 1yo was still awake I'd do the night bottle before putting bub into bed by 7:30. My xDP and I would watch some tv & be in bed by about 8:30 where we'd have some fun before going to sleep by 10.

    I miss my xDP

Re: when do you go to bed and get up?

I go to bed around midnight - 1am, sometimes later, and get up around 4.30am or a bit after.

I need to get more sleep, I know.

I just need to internet and photograph things less ... !
