Thanks for your advice ladies, I find it really interesting to hear other peoples stories and it's reassuring to hear so many others are in a similar situation.

We are doing pgd to avoid passing on a genetic disorder that my DH and his father have. There is a 50% chance of passing it on, so this was the initial reason for us going down the ivf path.... Only to discover additional hurdles along the way!
