Anyos - how are you going. Have you had a scan yet? Hope all is well!

Ferrals - Good luck on the natural path...at least it's fun...unlike IVF.

AFM, went to see a new FS yesterday. Talk about a man on a mission...after some thorough questioning, he was like "right, this is what we're going to do to get you pregnant..." Then proceeded to do a biopsy of my uterus right then and there for NK Cell testing (will have results back in 2.5weeks), then next step is a lap/hyst before end of year (my last lap was in 2007 and I got a natural BFP 7 months later - he seems to think that endo could have grown back) and if all that is clear in the new year I will do a totally different protocol to anything my other FS has ever suggested - he's like "we've got no time to waste, let's rule everything out and then throw everything in". I kind of liked the way he took control - my other FS is more consulting like, "you can have a lap if you want, you can try DHEA if you want". The new FS seemed hopeful, told me to focus on the fact that I've been pregnant 3 times and not focus on the high FSH or PR tag - so, with some renewed hope and a new motivated FS between my legs (hahaha)...I'll be off and running soon. I'm glad I sought the second opinion and even though my travel time has now gone from 10mins to the old clinic to 1hr10mins to the new clinic - I hope it will all be worth it!

Dutchie, Bulie, Daisie - Hi! Hope you ladies are all good.

Wow Tigga - that sounds great. I'm very happy for you. What is the name of your new FS and what protocol does he want you to follow?

Anyos - hope things are progressing nicely for you

Ferrals - good luck with the old fashioned approach!

AFM - AF was late - very, very late - but I've started this LAST cycle - have decided that if I make it to pick-up, I may ask to grow to blast regardless of number of embryo's - I am tired of m/c'ing and would rather have nothing to transfer than to transfer another embryo that is doomed from the start. I know that there are 3 day-ers that don't make it to 5 days, but would have made a healthy baby - but I need to preserve my sanity and don't want to be dealing with a 4th D&C in the new year...definitely not a glass half full person when it comes to this whole TTC thing!

    Hi BulieJ.

His name is Glenn Sterling from Life Fertility in Brisbane. I don't have all the details of the protocol because he said we'd finalise it after Lap & NK test results are back - but he talked about a short cycle with Syneral and 600 Puregon - he also mentioned steroids if the NK results came back positive. I'll post the full details when I get them in a few weeks time. (Also told me to stay on DHEA, even though he said there's no conclusive evidence that it works, it can't hurt).

I also spoke to him about the 3day transfer vs 5day blast debate and he said he said he would do either but his preference is to go to blast because he could better determine viability (he said some clinics did Day 3 only b/c they don't like working on weekends - I think my old clinic fell into that category). He openly said to me that he won't transfer a blast that does not have the Inner Cell Mass?? (I think that was what he was referring to - but am not 100% sure). He said that on the day he saw me, he'd cancelled a transfer that morning, even though there was blastocyst - because he said that it wasn't viable. Yes, the lady would get pregnant - but it wouldn't last so he figures he'd save her the heartache. I agree with this theory - and I know exactly what you mean about facing another D&C. In my last cycle, I did find some relief in the fact that I got a straight BFN and not a BFP that later turned into a m/c. Some would find that a strange comment - but I'm sure you'll understand where I'm coming from with it.

Where are you at in your cycle? What protocol are you on? How have FSH levels been? What reasons have you been given for your m/c's? Have you had NK Cell test? Sorry about 101 Q's.

I totally understand, it's bloody hard to maintain a glass half full on this ride - when you've been through the disappointments we have. But Buliej, I truly, truly hope you get a miracle on the "lucky" last. I'll be following you with absolutely everything crossed xxxx

hey ladies how is everyone going?

Ferrals, glad you're feeling good and hope you have a wonderful break with your family these hols

Tigga, your new FS sounds fantastic, I'm glad he's driven & optomistic! Are you booked in for the lap or waiting for results to come in?

Buliej, hope this cycle brings you a miracle. Am thinking of you and praying it all goes smoothly.

AFM down with bloody flu & feeling terrible. Haven't had scan yet but did third bt yesterday to check levels. Am on anti-miscarriage herbs from naturopath but have stopped dhea. Praying it sticks.

anoys - hope you feel better soon and get good news from your BT results. When will your first scan be?

Tigga - interesting - I've wondered why they don't go above 450 - the mechanism that delivers the Puregon isn't even designed to do more than 450 - you'd have to jab twice...what fun! I generally like his approach - only put in what has the best shot at working. I am going to ask my clinic about this Inner Cell Mass thing. I totally understand the preference for a BFN over a BFP that is doomed from the start to miscarry. I don't need any more "hope" in terms of my ability to get pregnant - I've done that - now I only want sticky embryos that develop into healthy babies. Keep us posted on your new approach!

I'm doing antagonist - 450 - with DHEA and Clomid - same old/same old. I have had 3 m/c's - 1st = trisomy 15; 2nd = trisomy 22; 3rd = no fetal tissue found (I am not sure if this is a blighted ovum). Belief is that it's an egg quality issue. My FSH levels have always been less than 10 - didn't even have a test this time. My FS says they don't matter anymore as my results from the 6 prior cycles are more informative than an FSH test. I would like to have an NK test so that if we go the donor route, I don't learn of more obstacles at the wrong time. I even have the orders in hand for this.

Hi to everyone else...must get back to work.

Anyos - I hope everything is ok with you and this pregnancy is progressing well.

BulieJ - How are you? I hope your cycle is going well! You do have good preg rate and just need that one good egg to surface. I hope it shows up this cycle. It's smart to get NK Cells Test. Sometimes I wonder why the FS's just don't do ALL of it straight up so that we're not wasting our precious time. I think I'll do 2 more cycles with my own eggs before going onto donor. We will be starting counselling for donor in January.

AFM, AF arrived today and I have lap/hyst this week - so hopefully before Christmas I will have the all clear on NK and Endo etc and get a plan for the new year...a fresh start. Can't wait!

I often wonder how everyone else is doing...Dutchie, Daisie, Ferrals? Hopefully all well.

HI Tigga - I got a BFP yesterday! I'm stunned and still very cautious. So much can go wrong this early, but this is the first time I've ever been pg... so I'm thrilled. Just goes to show that you can still go ahead with your cycle with a slightly high FSH. Mine was 14.5 (the day before CD1) and going up. Anyway, my FS says it's a good start and to wait and see what we get on the scan in January.

GL to you for the lap/hyst...take it easy over the next few days... it took me 5 days to recover after mine.
