    Default NSW Central Coast/Hunter Gynos

    Hi Ladies
I'm hoping someone can recommend a good gyno on the Central Coast or in the Lake MacQuarie/Hunter region.
It's not for me - I'm w-a-a-ay past that. My 28 year old niece has been TTC now for almost 2 years and I'd like to give her the name of someone who knows 'what's what' when it comes to sub-fertility. I hopped onto the IVF train in 1995 so am out of touch with specialists who look after girls before they have to take that step.
Hoping someone can help. Praying she's not following in my footsteps.
    Ta
    Sue

    Sue,
Malcom Tucker does all that still. He does more gyno work than IVF work.
When I first went to Frank he looked at doing all the clomed cycles before IVF. I was put on clomend for one cycle before DH test came back and we went straight to ICSI. So I think that clinic would be the way to go.
I know there is some others who are starting out with SIVF up here on the coast too. I would not recomend any of them though there repretation. Also I really can only comment on Gosford ones. As I was only given them to pick from, and also DH works at North Gosford Private, so I here about them from the other side of coin too.

In a way she is lucky to have you Sue, as at least she can be a little better informed than I was when I first started out. I wish her all the best.

    I hope this helps

    Thanks Vicki
I wasn't sure exactly what Malcolm did these days. But, if she starts out just with general investigations and, heaven forbid, she ends up on this path, at least she won't have to change doctors again.
It was bad enough going through this myself, horrible watching my niece now - she was only born yesterday!!!

    Sue-
That is why my Gp sent me to Malcom first as if I needed IVF in the long run I did not have to change. Only I was not able to get into him and saw frank First. It is heartbreaking knowing anyone has to go though long term TTc let alons someone close to your heart.
I had to smile at you comment about that she was only born yesterday. last week I bumped into someone I had babysitting when they were young. I remember when she was born and now she is a mother to 3! Time sure fly's doesnt it!

I do truly wish your niece all the best.

    Thanks Vicki
I caught up with my niece yesterday at my dad's surprise 75th.
She and hubby have decided to 'take a break' as they're planning to go overseas for a few weeks around Christmas. They figure they may as well do it before they have kids and she feels relieved the pressure is now off them in the babymaking department.
She hasn't had any testing done and now "is not too concerned as it takes lots of people a long time to fall after being on the pill". What could I say? I'm a big believer in taking a break from things but I so wish they'd at least have some prelim tests done - I didn't get into the investigation side of things until I was 28 and look where I am!
But, I'm her aunty first and TTC advisor second and didn't want to be alarmist! I'll just be the listener for the time being. Next year isn't that far away....
    Thanks for your help.

    Sue- no problem at all.
At the end of the day it has to be her decision, but I totally understand where you are coming from.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. But none of us "get it", until it is too late!
At least she is getting on with life. I think I have spent way to much time caught up with TTC then with actul living. If that makes sence.
And you are right next year is not far away at all.
