    Our Furbabies...

Not sure if I'm allowed to post a non LTAC post in this forum....but I thought of it because I often read people's signatures and notice they mention their furbabies. I'm often curious, so will introduce mine, and would love to hear about yours.

I have 3 cats, Milo, Mischief (Missy) and Logan, and an almost 4yr old chocolate lab Dakota. Milo is the chilled one, Missy gets bullied by the other 2 cats but takes the dog on!, Logan is the most cat like (has servants, not owners) and Dakota's a daddy's girl. The most gorgeous personality, and just waiting for some playmates (she tries to play occassionally with Missy...who puts her in her place!)

Hmm mods will probably move this to the pets section but anyway...

I'm another cat lover! I have a black cat called Sushi. She'll be 12 on the 1st Oct. I don't like it that she's getting old lol

Your furbabies sound adorable and very entertaining

    LOVE IT!!!

We have our Furbaby Jaz who is a 4 year old foxy x. Jaz is a special-needs dog. She was rescued from a puppy farm where she suffered horrific abuse and has severe permanent emotional and psychological issues as a result and requires a lot of patience. She has been here with us in her forever home for 2 years now and has settled in and claimed her kingdom. She's not all too pleased about the upcoming prospect of having to share me with a little brother or sister, but I'm sure she'll be ok once bubba arrives.

    Pleased to meet you!

    Hi airline!

I think your post fits into LTTC well, I think there are a lots of LTTCer's with furbabies. My furbabies are 'the kids' to me! I can't even describe how much I love them, I imagine it's what a mother's love for their child is like.

Your babies sound a lot like mine. B is the dog - she is a daddy's girl 100%. We have two cats K & A - K is a 2 year old male and he's just like your Logan - he was put on this earth to look beautiful and be waited on. A is just a baby, 6 month old girl and she is a terror, super affectionate but so naughty. (sorry for the initials only, not many people IRL know about out TTC history so I didn't want to make it obvious who I am)

Life is definately not boring with our three around.

Give your babies a cuddle from me, they sound lovely and you sound very proud of them

    oooh quick responses!!

infinity - thanks for sharing...I know what you mean re. anonyminity ?sp? but I've probably given myself away if anyone I know read this forum. I mean no harm by anything I say, but I'm always hugely honest, so might be best if noone I know reads it! Like you say, life's never boring with all those extra heartbeats in the house!!

Hollym...Sushi..love that name for a cat!!!! I love the cat out of Bob The Builder...Pilchard! cool name. I actually like Logan and Dakota for human names, so now kinda wish I'd not used them for my furbabies!!

BOC..good on you to rescue!!! That's so awesome. We rescued Logan...he soooo saw us coming!!! Rescued in Scotland, then emmigrated to this warm climate!! Congrats on your future addition!

Sorry - work interrupted my 8 hours of BB and google symptom surfing

With the exception of DH, furbaby is light of my life... she's an 8 month golden/ white lab and when she grows up (if) she'll be a customs dog - assuming she passes her exams. They take them back when they are 1 so be prepared to offer me LOTS of support/ red wine in Feb when I blubb for the whole month.

She's nearly in season for the first time, has taken to ripping my arm out my socket when she sees a young male lab... sprints across the road for a flirt. She also hates it when I cry and licks my face and brings me Mr Chicken (her favourite toy. Which is actually a duck, but lets not dwell on detail)

Great idea for a thread, nice to talk about stuff with no BT, deadlines etc etc!

Londonmiss - she sounds gorgeous!!! I see a lot of customs dogs...they're so beautiful..and well behaved!! I have to control myself to not interfere with their work!!

My baby's curled up next to me in her bed...having a dream and whimpering and twitching...think she's chasing the ducks..or is that mr. chicken??!!

Ooohhh, can I join this one?

We have a kitteh fur baby called Pickle who is just nuts. Seriously, she thinks she's a dog. She plays fetch with pieces of dried pasta, chews DH's shoes and plays hide and seek before bed. We got her when she was 3 months old, 3 months ago just as we had started out IVF cycle. Just the tonic that we needed and I don't know how we managed without her.

She is the best fur baby ever!! I love her hard.

    Hugs
    Sue xx

she sounds gorgeous sue...and I love the name!!

For any cat lovers...or indeed animal lovers there's a website (respectful to BB cos it's nowt to do with reproducing )...but it's called 'simon's cat' and it has 4 or 5 short 2 minute films on it. They're compiled of sketches he's done, and they are fantastic, amusing, clever and if you own a feline...very true to life!!! We all need a giggle every now and then, and I fully recommend this site.

Ahhh what a busy couple of days!

My Jaz is definitely preparing me for babyhood! She sleeps on the floor in a bed next to ours and ever since we got her 2 years ago I have not slept a full night, as she needs to go to the toilet every morning anywhere between 1am & 3am. I wake up instantly at the sound of the shake when she gets up.

Well in the last week we have had 3 loooong nights of storms, and she is terrified of storms. About half an hour before they hit she jumps up on the bed, whimpering & licking me frantically to wake me up, we then snuggle up and she relaxes and goes to sleep. Then she's snoring and twitching away so then I can't sleep, yet I don't move her.

I know it's all my own fault for letting her sleep with us but after everything she's been through I don't have the heart to boot her outside, especially when I know how scared she gets. We did try for a little while making her sleep in the spare bathroom but all she did was cry & yelp & scratch all the paint off the back of the door. So that put an end to that!

And this morning amidst the dust-storm mayhem the little miss is yawning away and lazing on our bed. I found myself going in and closing the blinds and doors for her so she can get some sleep in the dark... Oh dear I think I need help LOL

BOC - your baby is very spoilt indeed - but I know how easy it is to get wrapt around their little paws!!! They so know they have you right where they want you! But on the flipside - a baby like that with the history she has had - she deserves all the spoiling and loving anyone or thing can get!

AFM - We have a gorgeous little lab x staffy - he is the absolute best guy in the world and seriously shares the love around in our house. He is also known as 'lover dog' amongst his other few names - cos he is mad for a cuddle. He sleeps in the garage where we put insulation in just for him and he has a great bed with loads of blankets. During winter tho he was inside in our room on some blankets, but once the cooler nights started fading we put him back out, he seems to like his bed out there anyhow. Also we too were getting woken up with the doggie dreams; the yelping, twitching and funny noises!

I have to say he is like our child and I think with our IVF journey, like with any troublesome time in your life - he is there to make it better. I just love how their love is continuous, non judgemental, he is never moody always happy - I just can't stay grumpy or really sad when he is around.

And we are so lucky that he is soooo well behaved, a little cheeky and fantastic with kids of all ages - so gentle and loves their attention.

*sigh* Oh I miss him now thinking of him here at work! Wish I could post a pic of him!

    Hi Ladies,

Airline - What a great idea! I've enjoyed reading about everyone's furbabies . Your Logan sounds like my Bella!

HollyM - I love the name Sushi!

BOC - I so love hearing stories of rescued animals (although I wish there was no need for a rescue I the 1st place!) and I'm glad that Jaz has found a great loving home . How crazy is this dust storm!!! I'm at the Gold Coast and we have it here also!!

Infinity - I must admit that we are exactly the same in that I see all of my furbabies as my 'kids' he, he!

LondonMiss - Ooohhh.... LondonMis, I don't know how you do it! It would be hard to let go of your furbabie after a year!

Sue1979 - What a great name also - pickle, he, he! She definitely sounds like a character!

Nix76 - 'lover dog' sounds a little like my JD. So full of love and always looking to please!

AFM - We have 2 Kitty Kats:

Bella Lasagne (or Bella for short) - We took Bella in after a friend moved and she is a big softie at heart even though she acts so independent all the time! She is always the one who comes and sits by my side when I am really upset and gives me lots of smooches.

Soxy Woxy Woo Woo (or Soxy for short) - We got Soxy form the pound when he was a kitten (he is now 3). He is an absolute character and I swear that he thinks he is a person, he, he! When he wants a drink, he will meow and jump into the bath tub and wait for us to turn on the bath tap! He sleeps every night with us and DH constantly hugs him like a teddy bear (I even get jealous some times!). He picks on Bella sometimes as he is more playful and has now started to chase the dog around!

JD - We also got JD form the pound when he was 6moths old (he is now 2). He is a staffy/ boarder collie (short hair, black and white with a staffy head and big collie ears tht stick up!)and definitely has ants in his pants as he just can't keep still (I have to run him every day otherwise he gets ADD!) He has an absolutely gorgeous nature and can't sit more than 2m away from us at all times! He is great with the cats and thinks it is all a big game when Soxy chases him!

How freaky is this dust storm??!!

Nix ... you hit the nail on the head...animal are never really grumpy (well cats can give you the cold shoulde sometimes ) and they offer unconditional, constant love. They're always so happy with a tickle/cuddle/ball throw/feather on a stick play. We're lucky to have them to help us through the hard times. If only they knew how valuable they are to us.

Coral...your JD sounds like my Dakota..she forgets that the cats are just not impressed with her playing antics, and does the whole play bow right in front of them, bum in the air wiggling saying, c'mon you know you want to!!

Dakota's settled in her bed with her 'blankey'..a red blanket she takes and chews gently in her mouth then falls asleep with it still in her mouth...she's almost 4yrs old

I'm really enjoying this thread, keep 'em coming, it's nice to know we all share something else in common other than needles...synarol....multiple follicles etc
