Hi Bee – welcome back! Glad to hear you’re feeling good and sounds as though you’ve got a great attitude toward your cycle!! Yay overseas trip! \/ Double yay losing weight! \/ \/ And triple yay for your puppy – hope she continues to improve!!! \/ \/ \/
Vicky – Your local GP should be able to arrange some blood tests for you if you’re uneasy. My GP was excellent in that regard and made sure that the results were sent through urgently and rang me in person with the results. Hope your follies are getting even more good looking – good luck for Monday pet!
Tam – Yay on going platinum! =D> Can’t wait to see your spunky chick!! Woo hoo - starting on the ooogy pessaries. (TMI warning!) My DH calls them ‘cheeses’ because he was there when the nurse explained that I might get a cottage cheese like discharge with them.. lol 8-[ . Have my fingers crossed for Friday for you petal!
Marg – Wow, I’ll count my blessings that my clinic is close. 1½ hrs is a long haul – better than the 3½ though! Does that mean you live somewhere near Bendigo? Is the Ballarat clinic affiliated with Melbourne IVF or Monash? Sorry to bug you with the questions!
Sue – How is the trip planning coming along? Please avoid the ferries and busses in Egypt and if someone asks you to carry their boogie board bag, just say no! O
I haven’t got much to update you with. Still no AF. Maybe I’ll wait until the ticker reaches 175 before changing it…?

I just dont know how much my heart can keep breaking if it doesn't work But I'm sure we have all felt this way, what makes it harder for me this time is that before I was looking at it "scientifically..now I'm scared it will be totally emotion". And part of me says I have been so blessed to have one...stand aside and let someone else be a mummy. Erghh who ever said it gets easier..maybe watching all these wonderful women getting BFP will inspire me to be brave.

Bec, no, it doesn't get easier. The only aspect that gets easier is that you know what to expect regarding treatments, and having needles etc.
I don't think it matters how you look at it - emotionally, scientifically, informed or blissfully-ignorant-on-purpose - not ending up with that longed-for bub in your arms is so painful. Already having one child certainly doesn't mean you have to step aside for others. No way! :smt018
I'm tempted to type don't worry, but I know you will anyway! But, I do think you're doing the right thing by taking a little time out to sort through your feelings, getting your head and heart into the right place. No point hopping on the rollercoaster if you're feeling negative and unsure.
But, as I keep saying (yawn...) :-({|= , the heart wants what the heart wants. Am pretty sure that eventually you'll try again - that yearning is still there. And, yes, have a look at all the successes there have been in the past couple of months. Particularly those for whom it must have at times seemed an impossible dream given their history - Sheree, Trish, Sush (even if she isn't a recent graduate!). Miracles happen, this forum proves that.

As for me, I'm doin ok. Have figured I'm going to realise if my P4 drops cause I've got mega sore BB already since starting my mega pessary dose. Yep, & sick of the 'cottage cheese' already (don't know if I'm ever going to be able to eat it again now, lol). But the good thing is that I get extra relaxation from having to lay down, & DH can't say anything about it.
I think my sexy chick may take a while, Kelly is moving house.
Bec - Bless your heart, thinking of standing aside to let others be a mummy- but that just ain't how it goes! (wish it was, I'd be giving some some queue jumpers a bit of what for! O .. hehehe). Part of the heartache of this business we call rollercoaster riding is that there just doesnt seem to be any rhyme nor reason to how it all works. A certain part of it is faith, mixed with a bit of luck, and a **** load of guts and determination!! But I'm probably telling you how to suck eggs, sorry! I hope you win your battle with your demons. As for me, AF still isn't here. I rang the clinic and after too-ing and fro-ing of my file from the clinic to the Dr I have the go-ahead to start primulut. The nurse then explained that I would be on progynova to build up the lining.. hang on, what the?? I explained to her that the Dr had told me that for my next cycle we'd try a stim FET. "oh there's nothing about it on the file"... :fuming: This is the second time my dr has not written up notes of our consultation - last stim cycle I had to tell him that we were going with the lucrin instead of syranel :fuming: I understand he's a busy man. I understand mistakes happen. He better understand that this chook aint gonna put up with it. [-( . DH wants to change Drs. I'm close to agreeing. If this isn't stressful enough as it is.

Blue, I understand you on that one, how many frosties do you have? Do you have another clinic close & can you get in ok. Hope the primulot does the trick, what's the time frame for you?
I have to call on Thursday to find out time for ET on Friday, so just patiently waiting with my sore BBs, lol.
Heather - I had some concerns with notes on my file once so I know how frustrating that is. Sorry you are having problems with your doctor and it does sound a bit weird that there is nothing on the file about your discussions. Very weird. I would feel the same as you under the circumstances. I hope you can sort it out with the clinic because that just isn't good enough.

Hi Blue - I do live in Bendigo so Ballarat is a lot closer than Albury thank goodness. I think Ballarat IVF is independant of Monash and Melb IVF. Hope AF arrives soon Blue - the old witch never does what we want, when we want!

Finally I have my first appointment with Ballarat IVF next Monday - the first step is hoping they'll accept me - and then if they do, I'll be hoping I can get started on my next IVF attempt soon - my patience isn't what it used to be! LOL!
Hi girls Blue - you're right, as if it isn't stressful enough without dr neglecting to do something simple like write your cycle instructions down. My dr did that with my last cycle. Got every drug wrong, not to mention the fact that he hadn't noted I was doing a 'flare' instead of 'full stim'. I only mentioned it in passing to the nurse, she was hopping mad because it changes days you start etc. I'd have missed the boat for my cycle had I not been chatting with her while paying my account. Hope they get their act together, I reckon it's better if you communicate with the nurses instead. Hope AF arrives soon. SuziQ - yep, I am a bit worried about the whole single thing. As I have a diagnosed fertility problem there really is no reason for them not to accept me (unless they think I'm a lost cause!!!) but I can't help being a bit nervous.
I had 9 fibroids removed in 2004 and I also can't help worrying if the 2 remaining ones have continued to grow and whether anymore have grown back - and whether that's going to inhibit my fertility any more than it already has. I'm sure the new Dr will want to check it all out before going ahead - I guess I can't help being a bit pessemistic sometimes!
Aawwww, it sux doesn't it Marg. I don't know much about fibroids. Does that affect your eggs if they're on your ovaries? Can IVF bypass that? Sorry if they're silly questions.
SuziQ - there are no silly questions where ttc is concerned! From what I've learnt so far - fibroids usually grown on or in the uterus. It depends where they are as to the symptoms you can get - they can be very minor (or nothing at all) but a lot of women get very bad cramps and bleeding and can end up having to have a hysterectomy to get any kind of relief. They can disappear once menopause hits (little too late by then of course!). Usually they are just growths of excess tissue and it is unusual for them to be cancerous - they're usually just a big nuisance (and very painful).
I had eight small ones and one large one (over 15cm) removed. Apparently the large one was pushing my other organs out of the way and that was why I had lower back pain and terrible indigestion (my only symptoms). I think the reason it took so long for them to be diagnosed was because my periods were basically ok. One GP just told me to eat more fibre!
Eventually a gynea found them and suggested surgery - she left two behind because she said they were too close to the blood supply to risk removing them. Even then she had to warn me that if anything went wrong during the surgery that 'everything' would have to come out. I think my first words in recovery were 'do I still have a uterus?'!!!! And of course they can always grow back which is quite common unfortunately.
The problem I have now with ttc is that the embryo has to compete with any existing fibroids for blood supply and even the embryo finding a good 'spot' to latch onto can be difficult because the existing fibroids, and scar tissue following the surgery, could be in the way.
I'm sure there are experts who would probably explain all that much better than I have but that's basically what's going on with my fibroids! It's certainly been a rollercoaster of emotions over the last 2 years but I haven't given up hope yet that a bub might still be in my future (with or without Mr Right!) - I hope!
