Hubby and I are wanting to get health insurance. Was wondering if anyone can recommend any funds, it obviously has to have IVF included but just the basic cover.
Hi Shazz,
Dh and I are with HCF and find them absolutely wonderful - we only have hospital cover no extras but mind you we also opted for TOP Hospital Cover - check it out.
Good luck.
Shazz,
We are with MBP and have never been able to claim anything much thru them and that is one of the top covers. It covers day procedures in hospital PU and some drug costs, but to be honest I never claim them any more it is just a PIA. For all the reciepts I got I think they gave me $35 as most of it is done out of hospital. I remember seeing an add for a PHI company that took that aspect into it. Have you tried Iselectdotcom and seeing what it suggests

Hi Shaz,
I was wondering how you were going.
DH and i have just switched to Manchester Unity for their IVF cover - we have to wait 12 months, but we want a few bubs so i'm sure we will get some use out of it.
It is costing $180 ish for us both for a month - but that is hospital and extras. It's not their top hospital cover - there is an even more expensive option.
qw are with Latrobe Health and get three full cycles of IVF covered - after that, i have no idea what is covered - we also have intermidiate hossy cover and high ancillaries, and it costs about $85 per fortnight (taking into account hubby's 18% extra cos he didnt enter PHI til he was 39).
i was wondering whether it was worth the money as we've not claimed any of the assisted conception stuff yet, but i checked my account online the other day, and taking into account the ancilliary options we have, we saved over $9000 on health expenses last financial year
good luck finding something hun - if nothing else, check iselect as mentioned above.
We are with Westfund, we have their gold cover which is the 2nd highest one they have, but I still think it is considered Top cover. We have hospital and extras, with no excess for $200 per month.
I'm sure when we joined in Feb last year, they had a 2 year wait for IVF, but we checked with them the other week and they said that it's a 12 month waiting period, and we are covered, (DH and I both nearly kissed the girl who told us LOL)
I'm still going to double check on this though..
Hi Shazz
We are with NRMA Health which is underwritten by MBF. We pay around $120 per month and that is with $500 excess, includes IVF - but there is waiting periods for that I think 12 months and also includes obstetrics and hopsital etc for when you have success (also 12 month waiting).
Thanks Girls!! I have looked at iselect but its all so confusing when you have several policies thrown at you lol. Just hearing about others is helping us.
I found iselect confusing too Shazz! I just checked out the funds I had heard of (MBF Medibank etc) then went through our yellow pages to find ones that were local, or within a certain distance so we could walk in and see someone face to face.
It might have taken me longer to search this way, but I felt better knowing I had searched as much as I possibly could.
