yes a bit disappointing, I was lucky that I started pill and sprays while I was OS on hol's so the time went quickly, I was only home for 3 days and then I started my injections. I was on 225 for 7 days. I had a scan yesterday to see if my ovaries had calmed down as I had a bit of a period on the weekend, but alas still crazy in there so I have to rest them for a while. My FS has been away and is back on Monday so he is going to follow up with me on next steps. My period is quite irregular so who knows when it will come next. The fill in FS said he thought they would probably give me around a third of the original dose next time, and I am going to ask if I can have an earlier scan like you so they can adjust before I overstim. Apparently because I my age it's pretty unusual to get such a reaction, but they said initially that I was borderline PCOS so it looks like that might be the case, even though I don't really have any other symptoms.
I really hope you get a BFP in a few days time.......then it won't matter that you got 4 from 19!! Once I get some embies I am planning to put 2 in at a time as well - may as well go for it.

Well I don't have any good news. A for us this time but I didn't have my hopes up too high anyway. From what I have learnt from this website is that a lot of people have had two / three / four shots and then got a so I am just taking it one day at a time. I have two more eggs frozen and I am just starting the process for a FET. So fingers crossed. I am just hoping that I fall in before the end of the year for the simple reasons of the Medicare safety net...lol I am not unhappy, as I said before I didn't expect a miracle first time round.
Anyway enough about me, I can't believe they started you on 225 for 7 days and did not scan you during that time to see how you were reacting, considering it was your first cycle? No wonder you over-stimed. I hope they pay you more attention this time round!! I hope your ovaries stop partying and settle down soon and you are well on your way to some healthy embies.

I'm sorry to hear your news....must be really hard and I am thinking of you and your partner. like you said some people go through several cycles before success. My sister went through 4 cycles and ending up having a baby boy two weeks ago!
I've just started on the gonal-f (first IVF cycle) and noticed I was feeling a little dizzy and light headed at work today. Have you felt this as a side effect?
p.s. found it pretty funny this morning when my husband nearly fainted from watching the needle go in, ah men...soft!

I am so sorry to hear that your cycle didn't end up with the BFP. I have to say that I think you have a wonderful and positive attitude though about taking it one day at a time. I agree, I think it's all we can do really. I have decided that in between active cycles I have to live a bit so I am socialising and having a few lovely wines etc. And it's great you have some frosty ones to try again without having to go through stim cycle. Good luck with starting the FET cycle - fingers crossed it's your lucky one.
I am calling my FS tomorrow to see what I am meant to do next. I am definately going to demand closer monitoring next time, and at least I know what it felt like last time to overstim so I will also be on the watch out for it. Will let you know what my next steps are..
Thanks for the positive message about your sister - that's great and always good to hear success stories! The whole injecting thing is so strange, and yes it's funny how soft the men can be - it's kind of humorous in a black comedy kind of way - you should have seen the look on my husband's face when he had to watch me do a 'practice' one at the clinic before we started our cycle - priceless!
In answer to your question about gonal f, I didn't actually get any dizziness or light headedness, in fact the irony of my overstim situation is I didn't have many side effects: I only felt tight in the stomach, kind of bloating and like there was no room in there, and I had no energy for exercise, I normally like going for a run or gym or something at least 3-4 times per week and I just felt really tired, and had no motivation to exercise. Other than that I was ok.

Yeah, still feeling the dizziness, got it again today, but noticed it when I walking out in the really cold air (12 degrees in Adelaide every day this week!). We had to go back into Flinders today to have a scan and the little buggers are hiding behind my uterus....little peanuts wont come out and show themselves, so gotta keep taking Orgalutran injections which are on top of the gonal f injections. Wow, they are much bigger and sting more than gonal f.
Go back on Thursday to see if they can find the Follicles? I think they call them. Well if they decide to show their little furry faces I'll be one happy chappy becuase I think that means I go in for egg collection on Monday - beauty means another day off work whoohoo!! Hope you are well mate, and look forward to keeping in touch.

I am interested to hear about your Orgalutran injections, as I went and say my FS today to get me back on track after overstim, and he is putting me on that next time instead of Synarel. So basically I am waiting for AF and then I start on gonal f and Orgalutran. Not that excited to hear it's a bigger injection - yuck that sucks. I was ok with the gonal f as it doesn't seem like a real one, oh well guess I have to psyche myself up for that one!!
It's freezing in Melb too at the moment - have been treating myself to a few glasses of good red wine whilst my ovaries are resting...
