When they find nothing wrong - how frustrating..

    hi there everyone,
It has been 2.5 years of TTC and 1 cycle of IVF and no luck as yet for our number 2........it seems I have been calling 'it' number 2 for so long, I wonder whether there will be.

I have just had a minor surgery to look into my uterus and take a biopsy. All is fine.........again. I have had 6-7 blood tests concerning blood clotting issues and again all fine. I may have adenomyosis but i have had very, very little pain and symptons that go along with this....My FS says I have a slightly enlarged uterus but again this is normal after the birth of a child for some women.

Maybe it is just taking that much longer because of age (38)....maybe or maybe not. I don't drink, I don't drink coffee/tea, I am well within normal weight (I am athletic but DON'T overdo things and have always had normal cycles/ovulation)..........I am just too healthy?

we are doing Blasties this 2nd time around and 2 at a time... starting in about 2 weeks.

Sorry just needed to get this out of my system - unexplained infertility is hard..

    Hi Runnermum,

Unexplained Fertility IS hard! You sit there thinking that not having a problem/cause for your infertility is a good thing???? Its makes it harder.
We have been TTC for just over 3 years now, and we have had every test under the sun done and still no answer as to why we haven't fallen pregnant. It is frustrating and I do sympathise with you.. We are starting our 2nd IVF and are going to take all of our embies to blastocyst (if we have a good number of embies that is)... Lets hope there is an end to our "unexplained infertility"!
    All the best.

Runnermum - I'm so sorry he found nothing, I can't imagine how frustrating Unexplained IF is

But just wanted to say good luck with next cycle. Are you doing another Down Reg? We have just started the BCP...hoping since we share our FS we may be able to share the journey of this current cycle

Ladies. Just wanted to say that I understand the whole unexplained infertility thing. I lived it for many years. I was diagnosed with it a little over 10 years ago. In 8.5 years of unprotected sex I had 1 very short lived pregnancy during my marriage.

I have a new partner now and although it has not been an easy road to get here I am getting ever closer to achieving my dream. It was done without any medical intervention and I'm 41 so don't look at your diagnosis as being anything definate, your fertility can change over time. Good luck to you all.

thanks so much all of you for your lovely replies. I have not given up hope yet, but as you know, some days are just sooooooo hard emotionally, especially as you say Belle333 when you heard and see so many pregnancies and births - my two very good friends are 1. pregnant and 2. just had her 3rd baby.

las - yes, i am starting a Down reg cycle as soon as AF arrives. Excuse me for asking but what is BCP? Yes, it is nice to know we share the same FS (he is so profressional and caring). BEST of BEST luck to you.

we are taking our embryos to Blasties too - but one thing at a time - gotta get eggs first !!

I sympathize with you Runnermum. I dont have unexplained infertility but the frustration i have even with a reason is bad enough. I can imagine how angry and extremely frustrated i would be if i had to go through all the tests you have been through only to find nothing.

I haven't started ivf yet, got to the definitive point making it to the clinic appointment 4 mths after seeing the FS and now i have second (make that 2nd-100th) thoughts on doing ivf.

Ive been lurking around these forums and i dont know if i can be as strong as some of you ladies here going through your 4+ attempt at ivf. I admire you all for getting through your first! I cant even get to that point yet for fear of failure.

    Hey Jules

Sometimes things are easier to handle (not just ivf) if you try to take it one step at a time.

I used to have a fear of flying, so much so that i would not get on a plane. I kept seeing the big picture. But then I decided to break it down and deal with it one step at a time.

Firstly - I bought the book 'Fearless Flyers Handbook' but before I could buy it I found out about it then went to the book shop to check it out then I went again and purchased it then I left it in the bag in a draw for another six weeks till I was ready to look at it. Each was a step.

Although I can suggest a book ie. 'Feel the Fear and do it anyway' by Susan Jeffers. I think its great for any fear because its about the process of fear not the subject.

Something else to remember is: you are not alone, its only natural to have negative thoughts and doubts.

    Good luck
