1st IVF: Weird results for day 7 ?

    HI all,

I'm sitting out the wait for my results but was wondering... anyone had any experience of a quick response to injections (in terms of speed, not so much follicle number) - and is there anything your clinic could do to slow the growth of the large follies so the small ones can catch up?

I guess everyone's different but I dont think this is exactly textbook..it's my first attempt and I'm not sure what they really want to see on day 7.

I had my 1st scan today, they agreed to give me an earlier one than they normally would, and the sonographer told me I did the right thing in asking for an early scan because although I'm CD7 I have a thick lining and three large-ish follies, the biggest being 1.7mm ... but no other littlies on their way at this stage. I'm not sure what to think of those results - I'm going for IVF so I need much more eggs dont I??? I'm really hoping they can do something to adjust my medications so other follies have time to catch up.

I just dont want this cycle to be cancelled ! I'm on syranal so maybe they'll change me to the lucerin if I'm not absorbing it properly..

I'd be intersted to hear from anyone who had an uneven response that evened up later down the track and IVF still went ahead?

I just had a look back at my journal and can tell you this much...

At CD 6 of FSH injections my endometrium, or lining, was at 12mm (you need 8mm+) so it was pretty well ready. Follicles were "13 in total, 5 on my right ovary and 7 on my left ovary. We want them to be 18-20mm to be ready for egg collection. At the moment there is one on the right that is 20mm and the rest range from 6mm to 12mm". So going by that, I had one at the same stage as your biggest, but lots of smaller ones fllowing on behind. Five days later I had my trigger injection ready for egg collection and lots can happen in that time!

They tapered my cycle dose down and then flared it again towards OPU, not sure how it works but got some great ones in the end..Fingers crossed your cycle is a goer.
Thanks Sarah about ready to post about endo linings thickness LOL

ETA Some clinics think 4 is a great OPU where others like 8ish, it is all on the quality. I have had cycles of 60 that were all duds and one of 7 that were magnificent.

This cycle at my first scan, I had nothing really going on so up my puregon dose went. He scanned me 4 days later and there was not much happen so up the dose went again. He scanned me 4 days after that and I had about 3 around the 17mm and lot's little ones. He scanned me 4 days later again and things had really started happened and I was triggered 2 days later and EPU 2 days later. My EPU was day 23 and I got 15 eggs. 10 fertized, 1 put back and 7 frozen.

I had feared my cycle wouls be cancelled due to not responding well enough but I came back from nowhere and ended up with a really great result.
