    About to start clomid...

Hi, i'm new to this thread and also to BB.

I am 30 and have been TTC #1 for about 6 months now.

I have PCOS and was diagnosed about 5 yrs ago.

I'm seeing my gyno 2morrow after seeing her earlier this year, knowing that i have PCOS she told me to come back to see her about clomid at this time if we hadn't concieved naturally.

I'd really love to hear from others about their experiences on clomid, the ups the downs etc. Am really to keen to keep chatting to ppl along the way too

Hi Maz and welcome to BB!

We have been ttc since April last year. A Laparoscopy found Endometriosis in April, which was lasered off. We started our first round of Chlomid last month and am currently in the tww right now.

My first experience on Chlomid so far has been quite good. Only side effect I really noticed was hot flushes, mainly at night, and sometimes during the day after the first few days. We already knew that I Ov but the gyno started me on Chlomid to bring my cycle length down from 38 days. Got my blood test results last week and def O'ed so now just waiting.

Good luck with your ttc journey and hope it doesn't take you too long. And wishing you all the best with Chlomid, def recommend it.

    Hey Maz

    Welcome to BB!

Wishing you all the very best with clomid!

We were TTC for 3 years before I tried it. First cycle we got our first BFP ever!!! So I'm a big fan!

I didn't really have any side effects...I wasn't really having problems with my cycles, just couldn't get pregnant!

Anyway...wishing you all the very best!

Thanks guys, i've been off the OCP since end of October 2006 and have only just had my 3rd cycle. First cycle 11 weeks, then 8 weeks, then 9.

You can only BD every 2nd day or every day when you think its actually time, for so long, even DH can get a bit worn out!

We are hoping the clomid will take the pressure off some and give us the BFP we are hoping so much for.

    Hey Maz

There's a thread dedicated to clomid takers on this site...I found it really supportive...

    Here's the link...

    TTC & Taking Clomid &/0r Metformin ~ April 2007

And I definitely know what you mean about the BD-ing...not quite as spontaneous as it used to be!!!

Good luck Maz76! I am just about to start my first round of clomid also on a very low dose (25mg). I have unexplained infertility and have been TTC for 20 months.

Keep us posted on your side affects....

    Hey Maz
Welcome Maz and newjob, I'm sure you fill be able to find out anything on BB. I took Clomid for 3 months while doing IUI and I found it not too bad, no side effect other than a little emotional, but I feel emotional now on the OCP that I am taking for my fisrt IVF cycle! So anything that effects the hormones can make you feel that way I guess. After the 3 months my hair did start to fall out for about a week, that freaked me and wont happen for everyone and it stopped and all is back to normal. Good luck to you both. Hope your TTC journey is a nice quick one

I used clomid about 10 years ago. I had huge mood swings on it and did not conceive whilst using it so stopped taking it. Three months after going off it I got a BFP but had a m/c very early on. I am seeing a gyno next week and I think he will probably put me back on it as I have been TTC with my new partner for 1 year and we suffered an early m/c in March. I don't really want to take it again but it looks like it is the standard thing that the gynos do when you have trouble with TTC.

Thanks ladies, i had my appt and have been prescribed 25mg.

Am just waifing for AF to start and have been advised to wait another 2-3 weeks and if no AF then take progesterone, then start the clomid when stopping that brings on the AF.

I also bought some OPKs online and have been testing daily but no o as yet.

I am really hoping this works...

Hi there, I'm new to BB, and I'm hoping someone can help me with any similar experiences with Serophene (diff brand name for Clomid).
DH and I have been TTC for 12 months and I'm now on my second month of Serophene. Has anyone experienced any sharp lower ab pain while taking Serophene/Clomid?
First cycle I had v sharp pains on Days 16/17 (post ovulation), this month it was Day 4/5 (pre-ovulation). Have been to see Gyno and scan shows no obvious explanation (ie/ cyst or twisted ovary), and advice was to "persist and see what happens".
    Any similar experiences out there?
