Hey Vicki,
Whereabouts are you hun ??? I know I had it to help my cycle but ended up stopping before IVF #1 so they could effectively track my system and responses ...
Hello everyone,
My first IVF cycle has been cancelled due to my poor response to the injections (not many follies). I'm thinking of trying acupuncture for my next cycle in January, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend an acupunturist in Western Sydney? Any other info about the efficacy of acupuncture would also be appreciated!
Thanks,
Vicki

Hey Melsta - I'm in Penrith. Whereabouts are you? Which acupuncturist did you use?
Vicki
Hey Vicki, I am near camden so I was going to the one at macarthur square .... but then he moved to shoalhaven ... i found him by searching on the acupunture association of australia website and searching for a recognised therapist .... maybe that will help you hun ?
Hi Vicky,
I saw John Crothers for my back after I had my girls.I now of women who have seen him as well during their pregnancies. He is located on castlereagh street penrith opp the RSL club.I think he is very good and so does my DH who saw him with his back.
Hi Dizzy,
It is a store called Lee Massage and Acupuncture and it is Dr Lee ... as far as I am aware he moved when he opened a store down there and he was ever so gentle but really good !
Hope it helps hun
Thank you to everyone for your responses - very helpful!
Pansy - I have made an appointment with John Crothers for this Saturday, so fingers crossed he will be able to help me!
Vicki
VIcki - good luck for saturday hun and from my experience ask questions galore, I asked a question every time they stuck a needle in a different point as I wanted to know why there, what does it do to help and how long will it take ... i think my acupuncturist saw me as the only patient that didnt relax and stop asking questions lol but once the needles were in *yawn* it is sooo peaceful and resting i used to doze off and send my prayers to the universe lol
Hi ladies
I was just looking at what you are talking about with acupucture and i think there was a query about this a week or so back at how it works for fertility and all. Anyway i think her name is SUSHEE the moderator, she reckons that acupucture in asian cultures is used for insomnia and some other disorders but was never used for fertility that she heard of. Sorry to put a dampener on the whole acupuncture thing, but she did reckon chiropractor's have been known to help in this department though and through family experience i think it does help, but then again if you find acupuncture helps sooth the soul and relax you, it may well be worth a try!!!!!
I am not in the same situation as you with IVF but i am TTC #2 after 5.5 yrs of no contraception, good luck to all of us trying for that BFP
Acupuncture is definitely used to assist women with fertility issues - my acupuncturist is a specialist in this area.
Vicki,
How did you go on Saturday with John?
Hi Pansy,
It went well, although he came across as a bit odd LOL. But hey, if it works, I don't care if he wears a tutu! He put 4 needles in me: 2 in my leg, and one each over my ovaries, and I have some homeopathic remedies to take. I can't say I've noticed any difference so far, but I'm sure it will take a few treatments for anything to happen. All in all, I'm pleased so far. Thanks for asking!
Vicki
