Sorry Jo I don't mean to seem insensitive. I did know that you had endo I just thought that because you have fallen preg that it was'nt a factor. My understanding was that if you could'nt become preg, then they went the surgery option to remove it. I thought that it would'nt make you mc. But I suppose you have been TTC for a while now so they are thinking it may have come back I assume. Anyway I suppose if that is the case like Lissie says it may be best to have it done. But whatever you decide heaps of :hug::goodluck::crossfingers::thumbsup:and everything else I did'nt include.Pam.

Hi everyone, I appreciate your thoughts. I'm in 2 minds about it, some Drs say that as long as I can fall pg every year my endo is not a problem but others say there is a link between endo and m/c. I suppose I would like to know what's going on in there as I haven't had a lap for 12 years.

Sorry to hear it's in your family, Lissie. I was constantly aware of the need to start a family ASAP but it's not so easy to find the right guy. I hope my daughters don't have it:(

I was all down and discouraged this week when AF came but today my other AP was so positive about my chances I am hopeful again... but he thought the lap was unnecessary. I mainly see an AP in Darlinghurst but it's hard to get in to see her, can only get Saturdays which is a hard day with family commitments so found a group of Dr's who do AP near here. All really positive guys, which is great for my mindset.

Hi Bettyboop- looked like you O'd on day 11 but the rise is dropping back a bit, usually they like the temps to reach the high 36.6s but it's best to show an AP- they study my charts very closely to see how to best treat you- are you seeing one?.

Jo - its great you are feeling positive again i think sometimes its half the battle -
re endo - i don't have any kids yet so if i do and it is a girl i hope she never gets it - good chance as i am free of endo.Best of luck with the new doctors.
Betty - hope all goes well with your apt - i know it will all be okay and that you get some answers.
Pam - hope all is well with you and your spirits are high.
Me - well im well into the injections now and the nightmares have begun - i always have bad nightmares when on these hormones - it screws with your head i guess. I also get very tired and could just sleep - even after 8hrs i am still tired. Broken out in rashes which is another side effect i get - fun and joy - just want to hold onto as many follicles as possible - but basically just want and need one good eggie. So the journey continues - probably have my first ultrasound in a few days - gee i hope its a woman i hate haveing males doing it - stupid i know but its just not the same as a male doctor. Keep you informed.
Girls now we all seem to have been a bit down this week - so its time for us to pick ourselves up and support each other - we need each other right now - so lets show them all that us old chickies can do it!:grouphug:

I need some inspiration and hope, I'm 42 and been ttc since October 2003 with 4 m/c in that time. I do have kids, but just want one more. I have had 6 m/c at around 9 weeks in total and have endometriosis.

Hi everyone, welcome Julieruth thanks for the info I'II be having a look.Please keep chatting the more the merrier. I'm very excited I seen "Mac" specailist today, he was very efficient he is sending me for dye through my tubes (can't remember the offical name)DH is going for a :sperm:test not that he knows yet. I am having an ultrasound.Then he is going to get me preg and keep me preg, his words. He believes I have a hormonal imbalance, even though other tests have suggested otherwise, he says you need to test for 5 weeks to get an accurate result but believes that the MC indicate that to be the case. So starting next cycle hormone treatments it is, which I guess may be similar to what you are going through Lissie? DH is going to be horrified when he finds out his :sperm:are going into a jar yet again this time getting washed and injected. Mac seems very confident that this will work and he is certain I won"t have bleeding in preg because my hormone levels will be right. He said to me he was amazed that I had children, and was'nt at all suprised that I had had problems in preg as well as MC's. Anyway I hope he is right, it won't be long and we will find out. Betty I hope you have some answers as well:crossfingers:Jo I'm glad you sound happier it's amazing what a supportive Doc can do for you . Had another blood test yesterday - all good so far. Go for another blood test and 1st ultrasound on Tuesday 26/6 - so im hoping i have a few follicles growing. Time will tell but am feeling positive and fairly calm right now.

Had a bright idea- I'm trying to negotiate my lap to another date so we can still TTC this month- got to ring my DR back on Monday. That way I'm not wasting a precious month of TTC.
Lissie- so far so good!!
Blackduckies-HyCosy test is the dye test- I've heard it can help fertility by making the tubes more patent:)
Bettyboop- hope the Specialist can find something easy to treat!
Keep on going and we'll make the 2008 Mothers and Babies report 40-44 numbers swell!

Everything is fine on my end, however had more nightmares the other night - and now very aware of my ovaries (they are swelling) but apart from that all is good - just taking each day as it comes, what will be will be i guess - egg pick up should be around next weekend will probably know more in a few days. I often ask myself that question - (how much time do we have?) my answer - as long as you want to keep TTC - its an exhausting experience emotionally , so as long as you feel you can handle it then i say keep going. Good luck Betty :goodluck:

Dr rang a few hours ago- he is trying to swap me on the surgery list but it's not looking too positive. I love this Dr - he is so helpful goes out of his way to make things easy for me, Triple Bummer he's going on leave...

Bettyboop- we don't have that much time but I'll keep ttc as long as I can, the alternative is quitting and giving up a dream!

Lissie- the ovary swelling happened to me with Clomid and it did nothing for me:( and now I still feel swollen ovaries, but I tell myself it's a good sign- follies are there!!
Pam- I had hypnotherapy too- my DH says to keep going back to basics and deep breathe a lot, stay calm... I have a tendency to panic & despair after all the m/c which stuffs my hormone levels and reduces any chance!

Im alittle in limbo land with my last Mc just over 7 weeks ago, so am trying to get head together to try again.....Have read all your stories..... My lovely Gynae just called-He tracked down another patient by trying all different methods- finally phoning her son and calling her mob number- he’s swapped us around!! We can Go For It Tonight as my lap has been moved- what a relief.

Thats great news Jo - its such a shame you will loose your doctor whom you love so much - hope the next doctor is as nice and you feel comfortable with him/her.
Well had my ultra sound this morning - not a great deal of follies but enough i guess 5 on the right ovary but a couple are too small, and the left ovary has 8 follies but 3 are far too small so i am hoping i will get at least 4eggies out of this. Fingers crossed - probably another ultrasound on Thursday - will keep you informed. Starting to feel really emotional now - i just burst out crying in the car for no good reason - i really hate not being in control of myself - i feel like an idiot. Even my boss said to me the other night which i thought was a little insensitve " Are these hormones making you into a dumb blonde or something" - wasn't too impressed with that comment, but let it slide as i know my headspace is not great at the moment. Anway hope you are all well and getting on with business so to speak. Not really feeling to confident or perkie today maybe tomorrow will be better.

Lissie I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. As for the boss it has to be a man, good on you for not biting back, you have much better self control than me. I'm the kind of person that does'nt engage their brain before their mouth, straight from the heart it gets me in heaps/often. You have every right to be emotional have a good cry when you need it.

Jo the more I read about you the more you sound like myself. I know the PANIC/DEPRESSION thing well, he is my worst enemy, along with myself. Well done with the appointment change, hopefully this is your month, with everything falling into place it should be. I had my hypnotherapy appointment last night, did'nt seem to work, so back to good old fashioned willpower. I'm always looking for the quick fix, looks as though I'm supposed to do the hard yards though. I'm so angry with myself getting so down and allowing myself to put back on most of the weight that I lost.:wall:

Hi Chelle, sorry about your MC. I hope you are feeling better soon. My last one was about 7 weeks ago also, I am back in cycle and back on the horse. Hopefully this new Doc has got me sorted out, it sounds hopeful, but I'm scared it's too good to be true. Just protection for myself I think. Keep chatting it's comforting to have other people around who are in a similar age and position.

Anyway have my HyCosy dye in the tubes tomorrow, I feel a bit nervous.(about the pain factor not the results, but it should be the other way around.):cry: Scared of pain these days.Talk to you all later.Pam.

In answer to a question, yes I had endo removed last year in august and had dye put thru my tubes... I had cysts in both and it looks like maybe only my left tube in working order.. slows things down alittle....I have given this month a miss re TTC, as I feel alittle numb, so many miscarriages ina row is giving me the downer... I know I will pick up, and next month I will be right back into it. I was very emotional during "O" I cryed a whole heap, felt weird, as I dont really cry, nor show much emotion over my losses, its tucked up way deep inside....
SOOOOOOOOO, Im waiting to see a specialist in the miscarriage clinic here in Hamilton, as they seem concerned about me now...ha, was peeved it took so many for them to take me seriously, so we will see what they have to say....

Sadly my miracle pregnancy came to an end last night. At 9w 5d I M/C at home after a long day of bleeding and pain. DH and I are shattered. I see many of you have been through the same thing. How do you cope? At 43 this was my first pregnancy and I am frightened it will be my last.....my time is fast running out. I feel so very sad and lost.

O my gosh, MrsK, Im so deeply sorry for your loss... words can not express how Im feeling for you right now.... I dont know if you truly do cope at all, all I know is I fumble from day to day...its a time thing, and right now be kind to yourself and DH....keep talking to us to help you through this terribly sad time.the biggest((((hugs ))))) to you.

I to like you have no kids but have 2 angles in heaven - i too get scared that i may never have kids but don't give up yet - give yourself some time and you will feel a little better. Just keep trying - do you mind if i ask if you are TTC naturally or are you doing IVF? Hope thats not too personal.
YOU are NOT alone MrsK we are with you - we are here to talk to and we do understand - hows hubby coping? I know my husband just wanted to fix things and this was one thing he just could not fix and it made him feel so helpless. Sending you big :hugs: and wish there was something i could do to help with your sadness but i know there isn't.

Chelle- hope you get some answers from this doctor - why did they take so long to take notice of you - sometimes i think doctors think just cause we are a little older that our age is to blame for all these things but you know what they can be dead wrong. I feel so sad that you lost so many angels - you sound like a very strong woman - you will feel better i know - i say cry when you want to cry.
Betty - don't you just love the TWW - NOT ! it just seems to drag on forever - hope you get the BFP :babydust:
Pam - good luck with the Hycosy - hope it doesn't hurt to much - i too hate pain - hope you get some good results out of it.
Jo- when do you go for your lap?
Me - i go for another blood and ultrasound on Friday and egg pick up at this stage looks like Sunday if all looks good on Friday - the nurse told me they are working on about 6 follies in total so hopefully we get at least 4 eggs - i would be happy with 4 considering my age etc.

chelle i went through the miscarriage clinic in Dunedin many years ago was great peace of mind and great people. Still on the TWW and now i have a sore throat.

Mrs K- I am so sorry to hear your news:cry: I don't know how I cope, the honest truth is sometimes I don't cope. A social worker and my Gynae help me immensely. Tell yourself, that you CAN get pg and ttc when you can. That's what helps me, ttc. There's a lady on one board in the States who has had 7 m/c (I think) but now 15 weeks pg at 45. She keeps me going.

Chelle-you sound like me- are you ttc naturally or not? I am concerned because last year I was pg around 3 months after each m/c and then after my last m/c, NOTHING. it's been 7 months- I feel like something's wrong big time. I really believe endo is related to m/c but my Drs don't believe it.

Lissie- my lap is now 19 July. Good luck for this weekend- 4 is a great number.

Thank you for your words of support. Lissie to answer your questions, we have been TTC naturally (along with trying many alternative therapies to try and assist). We had just registered for IVF and a week later I discovered I was pregnant. We thought it was a miracle. Meant to be. I guess we were wrong. My husband is devastated. He worries he let me down because he wasn't healthy enough. I worry that it was my fault. Something I did wrong. But neither of us blame each other. We just hold each other and cry alot, and remind each other of how much we love each other. My DH is wonderful. I am lucky to have him.

I read your thread this morning and cried. Neither of you have done nothing wrong - unfortunately not every pregnancy makes it to term as we know - my FS told me after mine that women are always looking at themselves and blaming themselves for something that is completely out of their control - he said this is a very normal response to m/c - but he said to know that most pregnancy that don't make it there was somthing wrong with the embryo. I know nothing anyone can say or do will make you feel any better i just wish i could, just take it day by day and love each other and hang onto the hope of another pregnancy and healthy one at that. I send my love & :hugs: be kind to yourself and just cry.

wow now i am crying. I just got a call to say that i can go and have a scan today to cheks the lining , as i had ashermans.

I thought I'd give you a couple of stories from mothers I know.

In my mothers' group there are two mums over 40, one is a first-time mum.

K was 40 when she conceived her little girl through IVF (infertility on her side). It was their first IVF attempt and she now has a beautiful 15 mth old daughter.

N was 43 when she conceived her 2nd child (her eldest DD is 13), first child with her current DH (also in his 40s). Before conceiving this child she had two losses in the previous 18 mths, one at 9 wks and one at 16 wks (placental problem). But she and her DH now have a beautiful 15 mth old girl!

Jo, when we first started trying for number 5, i really didnt think I would be here now...I feel pregnant fairly easy but miscarried at 14 weeks, then it took 5 months to fall again, and that failed at 6 weeks.A month later same thing, lost it at 6 weeks.....then... a whole 12 months later I fell again, I lost it at 10 weeks......then I fell 2 months after that(truly thought this was the one!!) and lost that also round the 9-10 week mark...so, all natural at this stage, but wondering if I need some help....I have had 2 early miscarriages,one b4 my 15 yr old and one after my 10 yr old...very strange how the body can take charge.My first three children are with my ex husband, and I have been with my current hubby for 6 years, and he had no children, so was always the "plan" to have a couple...we are very lucky to have our 3yr old son....the old saying just one more is alot harder....I have had all the tests,to check Im ovulating, they have checked my losses, there seems to be know probs... but well there must be something, or its extemly bad luck.I refuse to think it is because Im 4o, as this was happening when I was 38,ha ha.....

Also had 2 losses at 28-29 y o. Then 3 kids, then at 38.9 got pg right away but m/c at 9 weeks, then 3 more losses in the last 3 years all at 9 weeks plus.

I'm going to keep ttc but the temps and obsessive checking for non existent EWCM is doing my head in! I think my hormones have gone AWOL since the last m/c 7 months ago. DH is so certain we will have a baby, he is totally sure. I hope he's right!

O my we do sound very similar Jo......Yes Im glad I had a month off from my obsession!!!Cant wait to get into it next month...Just hope I have heard from SP in that time...may have to ring them...see if there is anything in the pipeline soon!

We will all be taking Babies home, I just know it....I mean isnt it a beautiful thing we all want...Why shouldnt we get it!

Thought it was time for a quick drop by, it's been a while since I visited.

MrsK - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You just have to take each day just one day at a time. Some days will be good, others will be bad and that can go on for a while. I've had two m/c a decade apart and have no children of my own, but am very fortunate to have a lovely stepdaughter. I'm 41. I too am about to head towards IVF as the gyno told me that you can't leave things to chance at my age and it will give any future pregnancy the best chance of surviving. I don't know what I'd have done without BB to get me through the last few months. It's not something you want to talk about in the real world but somehow talking about it in here does help you. I've typed many a post and cried while doing it but that rarely happens now. Nothing you or your partner did contributed to it.... it's just one of those things.

Hi to everyone else.

I'm in my TWW again and for once I'm not obsessed about it. Yaaaaay!!!! I'm pretty sure that we missed DTD close enough to O as it looks like I O'd on CD16 instead of CD13or CD14 like usual. With the pressure off this cycle I can have what I would normally call "symptoms" and not think anything of it. I've been feeling yuck all arvo & almost threw up at work today & for once I haven't attributed this to an upcoming BFP.... it would be way too early for that anyway but it hasn't stopped me from imagining it in previous cycles. Instead I think its stress from family dramas and too much work to do.

I've had my paperwork from the hospital network and I should get my lap done within 90 days which is great.... looks like on average its about 90-120 days for the hospital that I'm likely to end up in.... so a few more chances of conception up my sleeve before things start getting official.
